He was a mini specifically and I 100% agree. As my family has been processing his passing and talking about our experience having a mini dachshund, we've agreed that it's probably the breed of dog we'd like to stick to the most in the future.
They're such good dogs.
Frankie is now off hanging out with his sister (who my cousins owned) and all of my dad's old German shepherds 🥺

He's their Uncle!
I feel like when you look at him you wouldn't think he'd be the fun uncle, but he's the fun uncle. He uses his great acting skills to make the kids laugh, he's the one who gave them swimming lessons ever since they were babies, and the kids love to play with the bone fish dragon creatures. I think they help bring out a less serious side of him that both HC and SQX kind of poke at him for once the kids are out of the room
