Chapter Five of Echoes of the Past is coming!
The update will be long. I normally outline each chapter before I start writing, and those outlines are only about a page. The outline for chapter five is FIVE pages long.
If y’all find that it ends up being too long, let me know. I can split it up into two chapters, but I do feel like it might mess with the dynamic just a little.
Also, yes, I used a different title picture - something is coming.
I’ve spent the past day and a half listening to music to get into the mind frame to write the chapters ahead.
I’d love to have some feedback from y’all if you guys have any to give! ♥️

Okay, so, the outline is 7 pages and over 2k words. 🤦♀️
This is gonna take awhile. 😬
So, I apologize for the delays. Having trouble actually wrapping up chapter 5. Between it being a pivotal ending and opening up for crazy things in chapter 6, then my bff got me hooked on Live on Patrol (formerly LivePD) and life in general, I’ve been busy.
Hoping to have it up tomorrow sometime!

“Moore,” his voice tight and firm called out. “We need to talk.”
Ellie's head snapped around at the sound of Nolan's commanding voice. With a sense of urgency, she responded, "I'm just about done with my report, I promise."
"This isn't about that. I need to know, who is Victor Martin?"
An unsettling chill coursed through her as the weight of his question settled in. Her face paled, and a knot of apprehension twisted in her stomach.
"Yo, Nolan, what's going on?" Aaron's voice carried concern as he observed the tense exchange.
"Ellie, we need to know," Nolan pressed, brushing off Aaron's inquiry.

“I want answers and I want them now.”
Ellie's gaze remained fixed on the passing scenery beyond the passenger window, her demeanor revealing no sign that she had registered Nolan's words.
"Officer Moore," John began, his voice cutting through the uneasy silence.
"I heard you the first time," she responded, her tone hushed but firm. "I'm in shock, not comatose."
"May I remind you of the gravity of what just unfolded in front of our fellow officers, including Bailey and myself."

“Hey, I’ll take the wheel for the first half of the shift if you’d like,” Lucy offered.
“You’re the boss, go for it,” Aaron chuckled.
Lucy started the vehicle and pulled away from the station, heading out onto the busy streets of L.A.
“7-Adam-07, show us on patrol,” Thorsen radioed in.

It’s a sunny day in Los Angeles as Ellie heads to work. Windows down, music on, and volume up, the lyrics of “Can’t Take Me Anywhere” by Sam Tinnesz blare as she pulls into the station.
Parking in her usual spot, she rolls up her windows. They’re forecasting rain during her shift, and she'll be damned if she has to deal with wet seats again. In her side mirror, she notices Chen and Nolan talking at the station entrance and wonders if they saw her arrive. Getting out and locking her vehicle, she swings her bookbag straps over her arms and hurries to catch up with the others.
“Ah, good morning, Ellie,” Nolan greets her with a warm smile. “How’s my favorite rookie doing?”
“Tired. Apparently the 3 cups of coffee I’ve had this morning haven't counteracted the effects of the Benadryl I wound up taking last night. So, I’m hoping today goes like a breeze.”
“Well, I hate to be negative, but you probably just jinxed it,” Lucy grins.
