I think it's time we brought sexual desire and masturbation back into Sapphic yearning (and for those who do, we salute you).

Since I'm in magical girl fandoms, you'd think I'd be shipping more F/F openly. Actually I write it in secret because I know it'd cause drama to ship any tomboyish character with another girl, because then you're lesbophobic and think all tomboys are lesbians by default. If you ship any super girly character with another girl you're fetishizing femininity and turning it into kink. Ship the rich girl with anyone and you're romanticizing wealth inequality or if she's a sad rich girl, you're saying abuse victims need romance to be whole. If you ship the short girls with anyone, cue pedophilia accusations. If you ship a girl and her best friend it's incest/they're like sisters. If you ship a girl and the redeemed villain girl you're pro-abuse. If you ship her with her civilian friend who doesn't know her secret identity you're pro-manipulation. Ship her with the main character and you're saying romance is mandatory for heroines/treating romance as a reward for being a good person. Ship two non-mains and you're clearly lesbophobic for not depicting the main lead as a lesbian. Depict the main lead as a lesbian and you're biphobic. Center your story on a bi girl, and you're lesbophobic.
I feel like when I post F/F I'm showing up at the playground and now I have to calm down the angry kids, except that metaphor breaks down because these people will dig through your blog to find things to make a callout post about you for. And while I like real-life kids, trying to babysit these children is such a hassle.
The magical girl fandom really acts like this and then wonders why there's not more F/F out there. IDK, maybe because the first time I posted Sailor Mercury/Sailor Pluto I got accused of fetishizing the Romani? (for those unaware, Takeuchi stated Pluto is Romani. It's a long story) Maybe because when I wrote Homura/Hitomi I was accused of being butchphobic? Maybe because the last time I reblogged a moodboard for a crossover magical girl couple I got called a pedophile because one of the two 14 year olds is 5 inches shorter and that's treated as a crime?
Even if the cast is majority women, if the fans are shitty, other fans will go, "eh. I think I'll go make fanworks for this much less shitty, much less obnoxious fandom over here" and the result is a lot less likely to be F/F just due to statistics about the genders of the cast.
The "why won't more people write F/F?" question is basically, "why won't anyone get into this bed with me after I shit in it?"

Cause when you switch fandoms do you switch the content you make? I'm all F/F all the time. But if that's not how others roll, okay.
Like going with the idea you've laid out, shouldn't there be an ever increasing circle of F/F incrementally rising as people move from fandom to fandom? Like a 3D printer slowly building a wall? IDK I never trust these narratives. Cause it's always 'I'm scared and hiding but yet I am willing to go to an old guard person (whose argued against F/F in the past)'.
another thing and i think it's been said before but it's genuinely insanity inducing that gay porn is regularly cited by cis gay ppl as a major factor both in realizing and embracing being gay, but if a trans woman says the same thing wrt trans porn, that is automatically seen as evidence to her being a porn addicted coomer autogynephile who's only trans because of porn

Obviously I am not a Female/Lesbian Separatist or whatever because there are a tons of very severe problems with that as a political ideology, many of which are violently transmisogynistic among other things. But acting like the issues with that political movement extend to individual women (many of whom are trans) requesting that men don't interact with their social media accounts is just misogynist horseshit.
It's all "set boundaries in your online interactions" and "curate your space however makes you feel happiest and most comfortable" as advice to enjoy your time online until those boundaries and curation dare to exclude men. And 'exclude' is a strong word in this case because as has been pointed out so many times on this site, DNIs don't actually have any means of stopping anyone from doing jack shit and are really just a request for your boundaries to be honored.
Despite how many people on here talk, this is not in fact a queer bar or club. It's a series of interconnected personal and commercial blogs. I'm sorry if you thought it was a queer club or bar. Hell it ain't even a community space.

"misandry" doesn't mean someone's a terf. saying men dni isn't promoting terf ideals. criticizing men or saying you aren't attracted to them isn't a terf thing. and for the love of god, having a cis man in a friend group is in no way an indicator that there won't be terfs. there are literally cis men that ally themselves with terfs.
terfs are first and foremost a threat to trans women and transfems, don't let the language they use cloud your perception of their true intentions
