So during “We Don’t Talk About Bruno”, Pepa is particularly adamant that they don’t speak her brother’s name, especially because she shows some resentment towards him for indirectly ruining her wedding (even though it was over 20 years ago). AND she’s beyond shocked when Félix reveals to her that Mirabel was in Bruno’s vision (as her stormy cloud proves)! 😆🤣

Yet when Bruno reveals himself during “All of You”, what happens? While both Pepa and Julieta gasp upon seeing him, Pepa smiles with joy clearly on her face. And if I’m not mistaken, her eyes seem to be welling up with tears while she smiles. Regardless of whatever animosity she still holds towards Bruno, Pepa is clearly overjoyed to see him again after ten long years.

Then what happens next? Pepa is the first of the two sisters who rushes over to Bruno to embrace him. I mean, yes, Julieta runs to hug Bruno, too, but it’s Pepa who does it first. And when she hugs him, she doesn’t simply throw her arms around him: she actually SCOOPS him up in her arms and holds him there as Julieta joins her and Bruno hugs both of them!

While both sisters show pure joy at seeing their brother again, Pepa’s reaction is more meaningful to me because her earlier attitude towards Bruno implied that she hated him, yet her actions here completely disprove that.

Encanto was a wonderful movie about family! 😁

I feel like once she realized Bruno actually cared a lot about the family she felt extremely guilty for pushing him away and always blaming him. She probably began to feel extremely guilty, and being the more emotional one she probably begun blaming herself for not standing up for her brother. But now that he has returned she is overjoyed that she can get a second chance to make it up to him and fix their relationship.

Little White Lies Part 2

Part 1

It was decided that each of the traits would take turns sharing their beds with Deceit and of course Patton volunteered first.

That’s how when Deceit eventually woke up he found himself surrounded by an overwhelming number of cuddly toys.

He scrunched up his face slightly and would have kicked them away if his eyes hadn’t landed on a large fluffy black and white cat. The thing that caught his eye the most about it was it’s bright amber eyes which reminded him of his own yellow eye.

He immediately grabbed it and hugged it close to him, a small slight purr like noise rumbling from his chest as he rubbed his face into its soft fur.

Patton had a large grin on his face as he watch Deceit cuddling the stuffed toy cat which was nearly as big as him. His plan to make the small trait feel as happy as he possibly could was starting off great.

“Good morning Deceit.” Patton said in the softest voice he could manage, wincing at the violent flinch Deceit did and the alarmed look in his eyes as he stared at Patton.

“You’re probably hungry, what do you want for breakfast? You could have cereal, toast, eggs and bacon, anything you want kiddo.”

Deceit stared at Patton for a second longer before shyly mumbling “Eggsh pweashe”

Patton smiled and held out a hand “Let’s go to the kitchen then and I’ll make you some eggs.” his smile widened as Deceit hesitantly reached a hand out and took his hand.

He lead the way to the kitchen and lifted Deceit into one of the chairs. “Sit still and I’ll give you your food in a minute.” He said and went about making the eggs.

While Patton was making the breakfast Logan walked in and took a seat at the table opposite Deceit who stared wide eyed, one arm gripping the toy cat and the other raised up to his mouth where he was sucking his thumb.

“good morning Deceit.” Logan said, feeling like it would be rude not to say anything, even if he didn’t feel particularly comfortable around children.

Deceit blinked a few times before waving shyly, his face going red at the intensity of Logans gaze. He hid his face in the toy in his arms and Logan raised an eyebrow and fought back an amused smile as he remembered how Patton had insisted he had to make Deceit a toy of some sort.

With Roman in bed the previous night Patton had to make it himself and there had been so many failed attempts, it was harder to conjure stuff than Roman made it look.

Speaking of Roman, usually he was up by now. The few times he wasn’t awake in time he usually got woken up by Virgil who took great delight in waking him up in the worst ways he could.

Logan sighed, Roman was probably exhausted still and had slept in late which meant sooner or later they’d hear Romans shrieks and Virgils laughter.

Patton turned around with a plate of a rambled eggs on toast for Deceit and a plate of toast smothered in Crofters Jam for Logan.

Deceit hesitated but when Patton encouraged him he quickly began shoving egg into his mouth as if he hadn’t eaten in days which, when Patton thought about it, was actually a high possibility.

“Slow down kiddo, the foods not going anywhere.” he said with a smile and would have continued if there hadn’t suddenly been a loud shriek.

Deceit jumped and quickly clung to the nearest source of comfort which happened to be Patton.

“I wonder what Virgil did this time.” Logan said, taking a bite of toast.

The shriek got louder and it was only when Virgil burst into the room that Logan realised Virgil was the one shrieking.

“Roman… He… And… Dragon witch….. Child…” Virgil panted, his eyes wide.

“What are you on about Virgil?” Logan asked but before Virgil could respond, the sound of little feet came from the corridor and suddenly a small child ran into the room with a plastic sword.

“Hiyah! I has you now!” He cried waving the sword at Virgil who backed away, unsure how to deal with the child who was quite clearly Roman.

“Roman, leave Virgil alone. Sit at the table and have your breakfast.” Patton said, recovering from the shock of Romans sudden child transformation.

Roman pouted and turned to the table only to gasp and point his sword at Deceit. “What are you? Are you part dragon? Wanna fight?”

Patton waited for Deceit to maybe hide his face or something but Deceit let out a small hiss instead and muttered “I ish a shnake you fool.”

Roman waved his sword around “Aha! That means you’re a baddie!”

Patton frowned and stepped in front of Roman. “No fighting Roman, leave Deceit alone.” As he spoke he gently tugged the toy sword from Romans hand.

Romans face scrunched up into a furious scowl and he shouted. “I want my sword back!”

when Patton just shook his head Roman stomped his feet and let out an enraged scream, angry tears running down his face as he had a tantrum.

Logan had an alarmed expression on his face. He was not equipped for this. His gaze landed on an equally alarmed Virgil who was still coming to terms with finding Roman in such a state.

Patton ignored Romans tantrum and instead put a plate of food on the table and said loudly “Your breakfast is ready.”

Romans screams cut off as the smell of bacon and eggs hit his nose and he began shovelling the food into his mouth, chewing with his mouth open and making Virgil and Logan turned away in disgust.

Deceit tilted his head slightly as he watched the young Prince curiously, before eventually seeming to make up his mind.

“You loud but I shorta like you. Fwiendsh?”

Roman paused in devouring his food and surveyed Deceit, a small frown on his little face but after a few seconds a smile crept across his lips.

“Sure, wanna play hide and seek?”

Deceit blinked in surprise at the positive reaction before his own mouth turned up into a smile, his little fangs poking out slightly along with the tip of his tongue.

“OK!”

Patton beamed happily at the latest development while Logan and Virgil exchanged bewildered and overwhelmed expressions.

The two child sides began eating at top speed before jumping down and heading out of the room together, both of them grinning happily with themselves.

“What the actual… Frick just happened?” Virgil said, quickly censoring himself as he was unsure if the kids were within earshot still.

“for once I actually don’t know, however it seems we now have two children to deal with rather than just the one.”

Logan had a thoughtful frown on his face as he seemed to contemplate something before it vanished as he pulled himself back to reality.

Patton just smiled. “I think this is an amazing situation, I mean did you see how adorable they both were? Plus they’re actually playing nicely together for once!”

“I guess…” Virgil replied hesitantly, still unsure how to react.

There was a moment of silence as the three adults contemplated the situation, broken only by the giggling of the two children who seemed to be getting along for once.
