The creator of these images is Matt Bernstein, one of my favorite educators online -- he makes incredibly clear, forceful collections of information like this one. He's queer, has fantastic nails, and has done a lot of education recently from his perspective as a Jewish person on why supporting Palestine is so important. Here's a link to this post, which he created for World AIDS Day on 12/1/23.

Spreading this information is SO important. Countless people underestimate the impact that AIDS had on the queer community.

i remember adults telling me, as a kid, to listen to doctors and get my flu vaccine and any shots i could because they remembered Before.

then they started fighting Covid precautions.

i remember adults telling me, as a kid, that the ozone was disappearing and the earth was dying and we needed to recycle and save the planet.

now my parents think climate change is a myth.

i remember adults telling me, as a kid, that racism was a plague, that we had to love and accept everyone, that we should never judge before walking a mile in their shoes.

then they told me that protesting for my Black siblings was wrong.

i remember adults telling me, as a kid, that we needed to give to the poor. working at soup kitchens. making quilts. collecting food and money and supplies. building houses. because it was the christian and just plain right thing to do.

now they look at me, on food stamps with their grandchildren, and lament the "welfare state".

i remember adults telling me, as a kid, that it was easier for a camel to pass through the eye of a needle than a rich man to enter the Kingdom of Heaven and that any rich man, especially an immoral one, should never run our country.

you can guess who they voted for.

i remember adults telling me, as a kid, so very much.

when did they forget?

Time to bring this back. Again.

Apparently this is evergreen. Dammit.

I remember adults telling me, as a kid that girls can be equal to boys in all fields including athletics. Now, they consider girls to be delicate flowers who could never hope to compete against boys.

I am unfortunately just like other guys. I like trashy horror, dog poems, cannibalism as a metaphor for obsessive devotion, religious imagery, people who use my name in a sentence, academic validation, lying for fun, being bisexual and bleeding out in the snow.

I saw a post on this channel saying something like "white people shouldn't be shipping their white ocs with Namor, cause he hates white people." And the whole post was about how "Namor doesn't like white people cause they pollute the ocean." Which is a VERY racist judgment. Many races, white and black, pollute the oceans, and we shouldn't hold only white people accountable just because that's what the movie did. Adding to that, but Namor hates SURFACE DWELLERS, which means EVERY LAND DWELLING RACE. Black white purple orange whatever.

Also, Namor is A FICTIONAL CHARACTER. Not yall with your colored ocs trying to gatekeep Namor as if your ocs are canon🤡

The whole point of Fanfiction is for people to write their HARMLESS fantasies and share them with the internet, so others MAY enjoy them.

Last bit. There were white slaves and black slaves. White slave owners and black slave owners. There are indigenous white people. Every race, indigenous included, has colonized atleast once. No race is innocent. So let's stop with the racism.

Edit: I'm not talking about "white people not feeling represented." I honestly don't care about the race of the reader/oc, I usually just imagine myself in there. The issue I'm addressing is someone else's post that SAID something like said above.

"You can't be a lurker on tumblr." Yes, you absolutely can. I've been quietly reblogging things since 2014 and I haven't interacted with anyone in years.
