anyway, biorender is the best thing to ever happen to biologists since we found out we could manipulate peas

it’s a web program with like over 20k pre-made science icons you can use to make professional diagrams in minutes (or hours if you dick around a lot like yours truly. don’t mind that second thumbnail. it’s apparently supposed to be a mouse tumor but now it’s my friend). 

GONE are the days when we have to individually make a phospholipid by hand on powerpoint and then copy+paste until we threw up

or use lame speech bubbles for cells

4.22 i kind of started a commonplace book. kind of because it's more of a thought train on paper than a curated collection of Stuff And Things

Do you keep a commonplace book? It’s not entirely a journal or a scrapbook – it’s more a carefully curated notebook compiled of texts copied from anywhere and everywhere. It can contain anything as long as it affects the compiler. I’ve had this one since I was 16, it is reserved for my most favourite lines from poems, books, songs, films, etc.

spending time reading classical novels, playing with a cat, wearing vintage dresses, collecting flowers near the house, watering plants, wandering in the nearest park and talking with myself loudly, being at home and feeling safe
