Persephone is very small and can fly well - here she is deciding against making a break for it in order to return to her chubbier, more flightless sisters.
Mapril pictures, but make it fashion
look at my parrot
hey look my parrot can be tall boy and short boy
Do all chickens have that like, back leg spur claw thing?
Most roosters have spurs, but to say only roosters have them would be . . . spurious. I’ve had several hens who have grown big, mean-looking spurs!

I would honestly die for Mapril
I have nightmares where I literally die trying to save him for some peril. And I often dream about frantically trying to get an ever-increasing number of chickens into their chicken house before night comes. Like, you start off with 5 chickens but whoops now there are 6 more and you have to go find them fast because the predators are coming. And the ones you’ve managed to put in their house keep escaping and so there are just soft, vulnerable chickens scattered everywhere AND THE PREDATORS ARE COMING.
I mean really if u don’t have anxiety dreams about your chickens do u even love them.
A friend of a friend is looking to rehome their rooster. He’s about a year old. I’ve recommended the same shelter where I found Gwen and Luna, but figured I’d ask around here too. The post states:
“This is fluffybutt and he needs a new home. I’m trying to figure out how to make that happen. Any ideas? My kids are afraid of him but if you’re over 6 his rooster-ness is totally tolerable.”
This little guy is currently living in Douglassville, Pennsylvania. Would any of you be interested in taking him? If so, please message me and I can connect you with his current caretaker!
When asked about his temperament:
“He is a little feisty… but he came to us from a woman who raised him from a chick as part of her petting zoo and she was handling him frequently. With a flock of 30 birds we don’t have the time to handle them all regularly and he has since gotten his rooster hormones going. Its all flap and show and not going to hurt anyone. My 2 and 5 year olds can’t be convinced of this and cry and cling to me and refuse to play outside when he is out. Which is the only reason i can’t keep him.”
Anyone able to give this sassy silkie boy a loving home??
My dad texted me this picture of his new shop assistant, Electra; she is making sure his knife designs are on point.
His wattles are out. of. control.
