Now Just Maul

@former-ly-darth

Oh, you don’t like villains because they’ve committed “crimes against humanity”? You’re a coward.

If your apology involves degrading yourself, calling yourself shit or insulting yourself, its not an apology, try again.

Can someone translate this?

Don’t try to guilt people by saying “I’m sorry I fucking suck.” “I’m sorry I’m just the worst and I should die” Because thats not an apology, thats trying to guilt the other person into dropping the subject.

Reblogging this specifically to say if you blame your inability to apologize without guilt tripping someone else on your mental health, even if it’s not intentional, you are being manipulative. Period. I won’t take questions. This is one of my biggest pet peeves so this post has me heated. (This is a direct response to all of the reblogs on this post trying to justify this behavior)

I made a plant blog if anyone wants to join me. I don’t know how far I’ll stray from plants in the content I post there but I don’t mind following other blogs who post a little about plants and a little about other things.

I have 20 plants in my room rn and just want to share the love

My new blog is @ver-dure

Hot take/conspiracy theory

Edgar Allan Poe definitely killed at least one person in his lifetime.

To be clear, if A Tell-Tale Heart had been written by literally anyone other than Poe, I wouldn’t be saying this about them. But Poe inserted himself into a lot of his stories. There was a significant portion of himself in every main-character of every story of his. If anyone else has written A Tell-Tale Heart I would simply say they were a genius, a true master of Gothic Horror. But I don’t trust that Poe did not kill at least one person and get away with it.

Yeah I doubt it. @orphic-mysteries please, your turn.

Ohhhh boy

I mean this in the nicest way possible op:

No.

Hello, I saw your article entitled "WHY DEFEND FREEDOM OF ICKY SPEECH?" And I'd like to ask... Are you normalizing lolicon now? It's not just a made-up story where there's inappropriate content with children, where it's portrayed as something terrible. It's portrayed as something normal and sexy😦

This article?

As I point out in the article, I'd not actually read any lolicon, and 16 years later, I still haven't. As I say in it:

Still, you seem to want lolicon banned, and people prosecuted for owning it, and I don't. You ask, What makes it worth defending? and the only answer I can give is this: Freedom to write, freedom to read, freedom to own material that you believe is worth defending means you're going to have to stand up for stuff you don't believe is worth defending, even stuff you find actively distasteful, because laws are big blunt instruments that do not differentiate between what you like and what you don't, because prosecutors are humans and bear grudges and fight for re-election, because one person's obscenity is another person's art.

Because if you don't stand up for the stuff you don't like, when they come for the stuff you do like, you've already lost.

How many times did they shoot Hemlock?

Disney doesn’t often show the same person being shot multiple times, let alone by the good guys. I think that was a really interesting detail. There’s no other way to interpret it (imo). They shot him six times make sure he was good and dead, but it wasn’t for the sake of being thorough; it was catharsis.
