I DON’T want to get my hopes up, but after seeing the promo for 11x10 and remembering that the set photographer posted this on Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/p/CLHpeN5B0E6/ will we be getting a Gallavich love scene next week?

What is Layla Alizada doing on the Shameless set? One, she’s dressed like a cop. Two, there’s video where you can hear JAW filming a scene yesterday saying “I hope you catch the real criminals.” 

On one hand I would love to see her and Noel share scripted words (I don’t think they ever got to on Godiva’s), but that’d mean Mickey (and Ian) were in trouble again. And Noel’s comment on IG of “LAYLA???!” confused me...

I’m fairly new to the Shameless fandom (just checked my library checkout history and I watched seasons 1 - 9 in like 5 weeks in February alone. Season 10 came a bit later.) So I’m a bit overwhelmed at to the selection of Gallavich fan fic. 

How do you like choosing your next fan fic read? Put a few favorite tags in AO3 and see what comes up? 

I did find a list of 100 top favorites, but while looking at summaries for those, I’d find so many more others to read. And why is it that while I have all these completed fics to choose from, the WIPs sound so appealing? I want to read LIAB so bad (but I refuse to read WIPs)

I guess to help me pick my next Gallavich read: What would be your top 3 - 5 fics?

This would probably never happen on the show, but I’d love to see Ian and Mickey to go out on a date getting their tattoos covered up. I’m no tattoo artist, but I see some kind of warrior for Ian’s back tattoo. Maybe something to symbolize his bipolar, as he originally got the tattoo for his mother. And Mickey’s “Ian Galager”... why would Mickey get his full name if only for the show to make a joke.

In one of Shanola’s most recent Instagram photos, Ethan/Carl is wearing a mask which looks like the Chicago flag. (can’t be 100% certain with black and white photo.) It would fit if Carl is still a cop. So it would seem like when the actors are wearing flesh toned masks they’re not currently being filmed (camera not on their face). When it’s something else, (Emma’s plaid, Shanola’s bedazzled masks) it’s the actual character’s mask. Part of me thinks Debbie has COVID since Emma was on the Gallagher kitchen set wearing it. Or maybe Emma is just more comfortable in the plaid mask?

So far I don’t think we’ve seen Mickey or Ian’s “character masks”. I wonder what they’d wear.

Ok, so what I understand from Lyn Paolo’s tweet about the flesh colored masks: they are worn by the actors who don’t have the camera currently on their face. “Over the shoulder shots” example.... when Mickey brings home the wedding magazines in S10E11. The camera is shooting over each other’s shoulder.

A plot bunny just hit me. (Please tell me if there is already a fan fic like this.)

AU: Ian and Mickey meet briefly, maybe at a club, and have a one night stand. Some days later EMT!Ian goes out on a call about an accident at a construction site. It’s Mickey. Not sure what Mickey’s injury, and its severity, would be. But Ian starts to sneak into his hospital room to check up on Mickey...

Wish I could write....

Here’s a plot bunny that I’ve had for a while. Youtube recommended me a few videos of Live PD and Nightwatch episodes. All I want to see now is EMT Ian taking care of little ones in the back of the ambulance. I’d watch a whole episode of EMT Ian going out on calls. What if a child needs to go into foster care due to their parent(s) becoming injured? I’d love to see Ian and Mickey be (foster) parents in season 11... or a fanfic.

Random thoughts as Emma has posted about the Shameless and Conners table readings today. I’m gonna guess the two shows were originally planned to not film at the same time, or overlap very little. Now that everything is backed up due to COVID, I’ve been wondering some things. 

Was Noel scheduled to be a season regular on The Conners? Now that the shows may film concurrently, how will they deal with his black hair, as Ed Jr. has Noel’s natural color? Cover it with hats? Say some random line about how Ed wanted a change? That’d be weird as I can’t imagine Noel playing another character with black hair.

Just watched 5x06 in full again and I must have forgotten that it’s dark when the Gallagher family and Mickey get Ian from the police station. When they are in the car to the psych ward the sun is rising... (you miss these details when watching Gallavich only scenes on YT) So that means they must have slept overnight at a hotel on the way from Terra Haute, Indiana to Chicago. Anybody know of gap filler fics?
