I have no clue whether or not Horikoshi-sensei intended to write Kirishima and Bakugou through a romantic lens, but everyone else involved in production seems heavily invested. Kirishima sits in Bakugou’s lap in the anime. They share a hotel room (and bed!?) and Kirishima blushes at Bakugou in the movie. They go on an outing strongly reminiscent of a study date in the light novels. Deku is always talking about Kirishima and Bakugou’s strong, special, exclusive bond in the card game. Kirishima sends a heart with his hands toward Bakugou in the stage play. Bakugou gives Kirishima his jacket in the promotional material. Bakugou’s Japanese voiceactor openly ships it. Kirishima literally and clearly flirts with Bakugou and is actually, explicitly, unquestionably gay in the yonkoma spin-off. At this rate, Horikoshi-sensei can’t make another Kiri or Baku ship canon, otherwise it would tick off so many people involved in production lol

everyone keeps saying “it’s ‘just friendship’ when romance is an option”. then say ‘only friendship’, say ‘exclusively friendship’, say ‘not romantic’. but saying “just friends” clearly has a negative connotation to most people even if it doesn’t to you personally.

Thank you for this, I don’t want to argue with anyone on this post but I’m really getting tired of seeing the post be more and more misconstrued every single day, simply because people don’t want to listen. They’d rather immediately dismiss my point and assume I’m an idiot than ask me to elaborate. And if I try to elaborate I get told “I can’t handle other people having different opinions,” (that’s probably not the direct quote but the person who said it blocked me so I can’t see it anymore. You should be able to see it though) when all I was trying to do was further explain the point. (The person who said this also started off their first comment very rudely and infantilizing, and I stayed kind throughout both of my responses and they were still upset with me. I just can’t win no matter what I try.)

And I can’t reach out privately to people to ask them to remove their additions anymore (specifically adults) because they talk down to me and treat me as if I’M misunderstanding THEM. It worked for the first few people (while I still had under 1k notes), but the more notes this post gets the less people care about the message of it.

It just feels so isolating, like my original message is drowning in a sea of ship tagging, alloromantics talking over me, people getting so angry over the first line of the post that they just miss the point entirely, and people making this post about them and their friends or partners or whatever. If you disagree with my post, I’m not going to try to convince you to agree with me because at the end of the day that is not my job. I don’t care if you disagree with me or not, what I’m worried about is my post being taken over by people who refuse to listen to what I have to say.

I’m so glad that I posted this because it has reached so many lovely people, but sometimes I wish I hadn’t posted it at all because of how upsetting these responses can be. 

Sorry, this got long. I didn’t mean to start venting about how this has been making me feel, I meant to be thanking you for your response. It really does make me feel better to see people understanding how upsetting this is. The notes on this post are an absolute nightmare and the reblog tags I see every day are just as bad.
