My fave thing in DE (on a good cop run) is that you gradually start to see Kim subtly change how he talks to and about Harry to others as it goes on.

Their general dynamic is obviously very funny from the start (because the game writing is so funny anyway) - but in the beginning Kim is significantly more curt, guarded and sarcastic. You really notice it more if you go back and start a fresh play through after finishing a game.

The more you play, you slowly begin to notice that his tone changes as he starts to praise and act more gentle / silly with you as your reputation grows with him. You get more moments where he’s willing to joke around and share things with you, in a way that feels very earned.

Not only does it make them both feel like actual real partners getting to know each other (which feels very satisfying to play) I think it also shows that by the end, Kim is really very fond of Harry. I think much like Kim guides and supports Harry throughout the investigation after the meltdown, Harry brings Kim out from behind his carefully constructed walls. Its nice!
