Another World, Another Time [+Britishbountyhunter]

He nodded in agreement with her comments about heading directly to her residence. There were a few things he was curious about, but those questions could wait until the two of them were properly situated in her home. Despite not much having gone on between the two besides chatting, the former agent found himself surprisingly awake and feeling significantly energetic. He brushed it off as nothing more than the slight buzz carrying over, and assumed he’d be feeling that way for a bit longer.

Having the company of another agents was a feeling that was unfamiliar with him, he couldn’t recall the last time he saw someone from the Project not ready to attack him at a moment’s notice. Of course, it did help he caught her by chance, and without her armor, it made the experience to be much more pleasant than the usual song and dance. Of course, he knew that they wouldn’t be seeing much of each other for long, the bounty hunter may have volunteered to help California out in an act of good will, but there was no guarantee his help was even needed.

Either way, both agents knew it was best to stay on the move, and once her A.I. had gotten itself a body to move around in, the Brit would have a favor owed by the other. It didn’t matter how much California would be willing to do to repay the assistance, but he was sure when the time came, he’d make sure to give her a call.

"Alright, we're here." California avoided another dark and musty alley, moving quick up a stairwell. The area looked relatively quiet, considering if someone searched for them intently they'd have to be on high alert. But even after PFL, Cali was always well equipped with guns and her favorite hidden blades. If Wyoming had paid attention when he met her before, there was nothing to be surprised about.

She adjusted her wrist guards which had retractable blades sheathed away in them, her body language showing she was consistently alert. Alert but buzzed. Combat after a few drinks was no concern of hers if it was necessary.

"Whenever ya need to move on, feel free. Gonna chill while i can." Cali was hopeful Wyoming would be good company, but she wasn't expecting much. She didn't have many things in the way of entertainment.

"Shh. Stop fussing. I'm braiding your hair."

“Ya had to pick a time when Im fidgety,” Cali chuckled, adjusting her crossed legs once more, relaxing her back and shoulders a bit as well. “Im good now I swear. And of course Im sure youll do a better job than I ever could.”

“Shore leave? Really?” He managed to sit up, rubbing the bridge of his nose. Shore leave was so rare it seemed. When he finally got his eyes to focus, he looked to California with a smile.

“I’ve got a bit, I’ve been saving it,” he told her, eyes glinting in the low light. “We could go somewhere if you want.”

"But where to? Somewhere kinda far? Or somewhere kinda close? Just getting away for a bit would be nice. Maybe we can find a race somewhere." Cali grinned in excitement, trying to think of some ideas.

"I dont think we've met." California's dark armored figure approaches Arizona. Her armor is almost like Tex's except with a midnight purple shine. Though small, she was notably a bit older than Arizona. Helmet off and with a smile, she offers a handshake to the other as they departed from a recent meeting.

Arizona smiles at the older agent and shakes the outstretched hand. “Nice to meet you. I’m Arizona.” She notices the purple glint of the armor but other than that it looks exactly like Tex’s color. “Are you often mistaken for agent Texas? Because of the armor?”@californiaxknight

“Once in a while.” Cali nods a bit, helmet resting under an arm against her right side. “Until they hear my voice. And obviously im a bit shorter than her. Im one of the shortest around.” Cali was wondering how old Arizona was, because obviously she hadn’t asked before.

“True you two sound nothing alike. Also how short are you?” ‘Zona asks tilting her head a bit to the side. Arizona was wondering when she would be asked how old she was. It was always one of the first questions and everyone’s reactions were interesting to watch.

“Yah indeed.” Cali nodded. “So, you sound young. Very young. How old may I ask?” Cali then tilted her head. She HAD to be the youngest. Was she still a teenager? It was a rarity to see an agent so young. Some people never seemed to age, especially certain ethnicities.

“How old do you think I am?” Arizona asks with a laugh. She knew she was the youngest agent out of all of them but she wondered who was the second youngest. After all there couldn’t be that huge of a age difference between her and the second youngest right?

“Um, for the record im bad with ages but Im gonna guess 18? I know theres an age limit but i cant recall how young. Was it 16? What made you wanna join? Then again I joined the UNSC pretty young too, cause I had a bit of a rough childhood.”

“Actually I’m 17 and uh personal things made me wanna join. How old were you when you joined up?” Arizona asks trying to redirect the conversation away from her personal life.

“I was 19, close to 20 i think.” Cali shrugged. “I was far too interested in joining honestly. I don’t regret it though.” The military was only one factor that made her who she was to this day and she wasn’t ashamed at all. “I do demolitions, and im EOD certified.”

“Wow that’s awesome! How’d you get EOD certified? What situations have you been in? What was the most difficult call you’ve done? Has a bomb ever exploded when you were trying to disable it?” Arizona asks question after question. “Sorry,” She grins and laughs a bit, “Sometimes i get a bit carried away.”

“Thankfullt that didn’t ever happen, well yet. And it nearly did once, my heart was racing so fast I could barely concentrate. I have the speed unit so I bolted out super fast thankfully. Insurrectionists were closing in and my small team didn’t have a lot of time. Had to go with whatever they did.” Cali grinned briefly. “Its a lot of hands on training after basics. Like an apprenticeship and lots of simulations. I know how all kinds of explosives work. Needless to say Im not afraid of devices with a timer anymore. It was a lil more nerve racking prior to having the speed unit but i got comfortable with it gradually. What do you do? I cant believe how young you are! I think some of us are over 30? Im 27.”

“That’s so awesome! And maybe you guys are just a bunch of old farts!” Arizona teasingly replies. “Hey would you be willing to teach me a few things? It would be useful to learn and I could talk to you more as well!” Arizona grins at the idea of Cali teaching her some basic things like all the different types and maybe even how to disable one or at least stop the count down till a proper EOD came in. “Sorry I just love to learn new things and if it’s another way to survive I think it’s important to know. You don’t have to if you don’t want to so don’t feel pressured to.”

“I wouldn’t consider 27 or so old. Maybe after 45 or 50.” Cali’s lips twitched in mild annoyance at being called old fart. “As long as ya don’t keep callin’ me old, Im sure I could spare some time to teach you a thing or two. What’s yer main role?” She was curious as to what this teen could do. Arizona was barely an adult after all, since she wasn’t over 18 yet.

“I was mostly talking about Wyoming. And they haven’t really decided what my main roll is yet so I just do a bunch of different things.” She smiles and shrugs.

Cali chuckles. “This is true. I like working on weapons too. We could get some target practice and sparring in. Did they give you any armor abilities? I always love a good spar.”

“Yeah they gave me the hologram one. I’ve only tested it out a few times so we could practice that.” Arizona answers grinning. She couldn’t believe she would actually get to train with an agent who could actually teach her some new things. “I’m actually really excited! You can actually teach me!” Arizona grins, excitement radiating from her body.

“I dont think Ive fought or sparred anyone with that ability. Should be fun against a speed unit.” Cali grinned. “Wanna have a go now? Ill show you some things about explosives too. The wiring varies depending on the complexity of the device.”

“Yeah I’m not doing anything!” Arizona grins at Cali. “You have a speed unit like Carolina? That’s so cool! I’ve never really seen her use it that much, then again it would be pretty hard to actually see considering you would just look like a blur.”

"She uses it a lot, especially on missions. Haven't worked with her much myself. Maybe once because our abilities compliment each other. I try to avoid her, heh." Cali admitted. "Let's head over to the training room now eh?"

I want to spend Christmas with you-Alaska meme

Avatar

Cali cheerfully hugged Alaska. “I totally wanna spend Christmas with you. Let’s make it a good one!” She snuck a kiss as well, unable to resist. “Got ideas? I sure have a few. Much of it includes food n drinks.” Cali grinned.

A chuckle escaped from her while patiently watching as Cali questioned her before a kiss was placed onto her lips. She in return wrapped her arms around the other’s hips before then pulling her into a warm hug. “Easy there tiger, save that for the mistletoe huh? Besides there’s something I have to do first. I have to finish wrapping your presents.” She teased with a smirk on her face before winking.

“I have yours, they’re safe in my room. Should we do the gift exchanging in one of our rooms?” Cali had a few things she had wanted to get for Alaska. She was also spontaneous with her gift ideas, which helped when she wasn’t sure what to get. “Do you wanna have a few drinks? I uh snuck a little that we could mix with.” Nobody was around to hear her but she spoke quieter when she said the latter.

Alaska in return wrapped her arm around Cali’s waist before pulling her into a side hug. A smile on her face before murmuring in return. “Well aren’t you a rebel. I would definitely love a drink sweetie, also why don’t we exchange gifts in my room? That is if you want to.” She chuckled softly while nuzzling her sweetly.

“That sounds great, we can go now if you don’t have much else needing done.” Cali was always happy when she was close to Alaska. Getting a chance to spend time on a holiday was even better. There were a few holidays Cali liked even though she was Wiccan. She still appreciated Christmas and Thanksgiving (especially for the food!).

Cali’s energy was definitely contagious. She smiles softly before responding. “Nope, I’m all set for you. I’m just hoping you like it.” She admits before putting her arm around the other’s shoulders. “My room is not too far from here.” She adds quietly while placing a sweet kiss to her forehead.

Cali was blushing a little due to such close proximity again. She was more used to it now but she couldn’t help it. Alaska was so pretty. Cali hugged her while she had the chance. “Let’s stop by my room first to get my stuff, then we’ll head to yours.” There were several things she didn’t want to forget, including some things she’d made for Alaska. She had to get a bag full of things ready before they got comfortable.

She chuckled before stroking the other’s cheek. “Aw, well don’t you have just the cutest blush~” She murmurs in a sugary sweet tone. Nuzzling her kindly before asking softly. “Also, I had an idea I wanted to share with you if that’s alright Cali-Girl?” She had her arm around Cali’s shoulders as they walked towards her room.

Cali Girl, she liked that little nickname. "Sure! What would that be? Im very curious." She enjoyed every second of close proximity with Alaska, the blush lingering. As it was, she looked forward to spending more time with Alaska. Any other ideas she had to suggest had her curious.
