Hi all. I'm finally back (sorta) with that story I promised months ago. Life got hard folks. It still is but I still love this fanfic idea so here it is. I haven't written many chapters but it is plotted. We will see how often I can post, but I can't make many promises.

Header photo is by the lovely, @cosmikla. I commissioned it back in March and knew it would be a damn shame if I never wrote the story to go with it.

Twas’ the night of Starfall and everyone gathered round. Not a frown or a scowl or a tear to be found. 

The Inner Circle stood close, admiring the sky, waiting for the souls to fly right by. 

As they started to fall the gang looked on in awe, then confusion as one stuck out to them all. The star was hurtling fast and as it neared closer, it was clear it wouldn't pass. 

Quickly they moved out of the way, for its path was destructive and clear as day. 

In the rubble and smoke sat a large stone. Glowing softly all alone. 

Rhys approached first, with Feyre in tow, the rest watched on. What was it? They didn't know. 

The stone held runes too old to read. They called over Amren who looked on with greed. 

Waiting impatiently for her to respond 

Eventually she announced: "It's a riddle from beyond." 

A look of worry passed between the Lord and Lady. They squeezed each other's hand before telling Amren they were ready.

Hi guys! A little life update for y'all. Today is moving day for me. We are trying to pack up our whole house and lives to start a new one in a different state.

(No nothing bad happened that "forced" us to move lol we just decided it was time for a change.)

I'm sorry I've been so incredibly absent. I haven't had any time to read let alone write recently. But I'm hoping in a few weeks I'll be settled in enough to have the creative juices to do so.

I miss all of yall so much.

He sat awkwardly on the balcony and fidgeted. 

He never fidgeted. 

He wrung his hands together to try and keep them out of his hair. Az knew that if he succumbed to the urge not only would the hair Gwyn had worked so hard on be ruined, but he was likely to pull out a few strands as well. 

Azriel eyed the two glasses of whiskey he had set out next to him. Four fingers for him, and four for his guest. 

They were going to need it. 

Why did I decide to stick to traditions? He argued with himself. Honestly, Gwyn was going to kill him when she found out about this. But he didn’t want to skip any steps. He had finally found her. His mate, his whole heart. Azriel wanted to do this right. 

Even if that meant stepping out of his comfort zone. 

Fuck, I’m leaping out of it at this point.

“Have you thought that maybe I just don’t want to leave this room? In here there is no work, no stress, no annoying brothers interrupting us…” 

“Are you forgetting Rhysand’s mental cock-block so soon?” 

“The point…” He emphasized and took her hands in his. “Is that as soon as we step over the threshold we will be bombarded by everyone in our nosy family. Sue me for wanting a few more stolen moments alone with my mate before we are thrown to the lions.”

 "Aww Nesta will be so flattered to hear your new nickname for her." Azriel rolled his eyes and tried to pull his hands from hers.

She tightened her grip on him. "I know, Azriel. I'm reluctant to leave too. But I think there is something you've forgotten about today." He looked at her questioningly, but stayed quiet.

"Azriel, we get to go home. We get to leave this manor, and start a new life. One with each other." 

Technically there are two chapters left of Call Me Home.

But Friday's is the epilogue...

That makes today's the last one.

I just finished it, it's something like 4.5k words, I wi edit and post in a bit.

But I am a bit ball of emotion. This is the most effort I have put into any project, ever. I've spent the last 6 months of my life writing this. It's the project that got me back into writing and it has proved that I can accomplish a novel if I put my mind to it.

Holy shit, guys. I actually did it.

I have no idea why, but my chapter update post might not have shown up for some people?

Chapter 52: Welcome Home

Azriel POV

"It's not your fault, shadowsinger." Gwyn poked her head up, straining her neck to look at him. "It's my fault for being too attractive apparently." 

Azriel couldn't laugh at her joke. She almost had to relive her worst experience tonight. If he hadn't gotten there in time…

"I can see the guilt gears turning in your head, baby. I'm fine, well… apart from my ankle." 

Alarmed, he pulled back from her. "You're hurt? Why didn't you tell me? I never would have, dammit Gwyn!" He tossed the covers back to inspect her ankles. Sure enough there were five small puncture marks, already scabbed over due to her fast healing. 

But it was still there, she was hurt, it might scar. 

The bastard had laid his hands on his mate. 

He has to die.  The constant soft cloud of shadows started to drift away from him. Repelled by the anger radiating off of him in waves. 

My favorite "trope" isn't really a trope it's just a line.

"Is that a promise?"

Ughhhhhhhh gets me every time.

Chapter 51 is finally here and SURPRISE, its a long one and I still didn’t fit in all I needed to in this chapter so you all get one extra chapter than I planned. Hoorary! lol

Gwyn POV

Gwyn had watched Azriel fly away toward trouble. Beron had a lot of nerve, showing up after his spies failed their kidnapping mission. Surely he knew of their defeat by now. The likelihood that they had eliminated all of his spies in the Spring Court was low. Someone must have gotten word of their deaths to the Forest House. 

She tried not to dwell on the fact Azriel just left her to fly into danger, along with the rest of her friends and family. As she readied herself for the events to come, she repeated a prayer for all of them. In better circumstances she would have been glad for a moment by herself. Her nerves were getting to her. She had taken the time to take down her hair and change into her best pair of lingerie.

Okay, my only pair of lingerie. She corrected herself. 

Gwyn had blushed deeply when Elain and Maude cornered her in the shop with a set the same shade and material as her dress. She had tried it on in the dressing room and didn’t let either see despite their whining and protesting. They were at least proud of her when she agreed to take it. 

The young woman in the mirror looked confident. Long auburn hair had been released from its confines and flowed over her shoulders and grazed her breasts. Timidly she ran her open palms over her body and across the silk of her undergarments.

She felt beautiful. It was a new experience, feeling confident in her body and knowing that her mate would fall to his knees when he saw her. Gwyn planned to make him stay there for a bit too. 

I may have begged first, but I’ll be sure to make him work for his release. 

She closed her eyes and palmed her breast, unable to help herself as she pictured him there. Her hand wrapped around the sides of his throat. 

Today's chapter is postponed until tomorrow. I've got friends in town visiting and I never see them so I'm gonna spend some more time with them. Love yall lots 💓
