something i just realized is that no other legendaries in explorers talk in all caps… it’s literally just palkia and dialga. not even giratina does and it’s the 3rd in the dpp trio, so it’s not a sinnoh legendary thing? why are they always yelling

seven deadly sins

- not letting ur starter be on ur pokemon team

- thinking all bug pokemon are ugly

- hating popplio

- being mean to any specific pokemon whatsoever

- thinking fairy type pokemon are eyesores

god though, the gen 7 stories are so dark for pokemon games. here’s just the horrible shit I can think of off the top of my head.

  • a mother emotionally abuses/neglects her kids
  • multiple chimera are made via science. … that can’t be painless.
  • multiple people within the story become magnets for extradimensional creatures who will likely kill them (but not out of malice, but rather confusion)
  • and most of those people don’t have that explained to them, and one of them (Lillie in SuMo) can’t even protect herself if a beast came after her
  • one of your friends (Kiawe) loses his job in S/US, and in USUM, also has to plan his replacement for his second job of which he’ll have to retire from soon
  • a guy who can’t let go of the past (Kagetora) has you run around and beat up a bunch of senior citizens who are at the end of their life (or dead) and none of them really want to battle anymore, they just want to live the rest of their life peacefully
  • in SuMo, even though the UBs only want to return home, you HAVE to catch the UBs or else they will either be tortured or killed by interpol. there’s no way to return them home.
  • also the beasts that appear in Alola in USUM were all likely killed by interpol
  • even though Mohn is discovered by Lusamine and Gladion in USUM, he isn’t told about how he has a family and colleagues who desperately miss him (although he might be told in the future)
  • Necrozma is said to be suffering massive amounts of pain - even moreso in SuMo where it can’t use a Solgaleo/Lunala/Ultranecrozium to help ease it
  • Looker and Nanu had a partner straight up devoured by a Guzzlord because they hesitated for a split second
  • and they have to protect their new partner, who came from another timeline, from that same fate
  • you get to walk around in a destroyed Hau'oli city in a universe where the planet is no longer inhabitable by most creatures
  • there’s an alien just lost in the desert, possibly having been there for decades
  • and now, my newest theory: the Tapu might only be letting you catch them because they’re afraid you’ll hurt them otherwise

And yeah that’s just the shit I can think of off the top of my head
