It’s been fun
So you may have noticed (or not, haven’t received any messages about it so I guess nobody minds) that I haven’t posted any of my own artwork for months. In addition to not being in Saddle Up 2 when it was advertised that I was indeed a part of it.
I’ve given up art, at least on a public level. Any sketches I do are kept to myself or close friends. After 3 years of this I found myself in a position where I was finding it way more stressful and soul-crushing than enjoyable. Don’t get me wrong, I still love art, but after all this time I find myself not where I wanted to be.
When I started, I yearned to have a circle of art friends, you know? We could hang out, talk about things, play a few games and do little back and forth sketches, something cool you know? I’ve seen many artists come from nowhere and manage to obtain in only a year and a half what I’ve been trying to do this whole time - not to mention gratuitous amounts of fanart and praise and just yeh.
I know this sounds real selfish and greedy of me but that’s what I wish I had more of. If not fanart, then even collabs with some other artists! In those 3 years I never made any money apart from a single commission I took when I was in desperate need of money and the person wouldn’t take ‘no’ for an answer (in regards to making it just a request). I wasn’t in this for the money, just the appeal of having friends and followers that would cheer me on - that’s what sounded fantastic.
So I don’t know if I’ll post art here again, maybe a sketch if I’m up for it or whatever, but don’t get your hopes up (as if anyone got their hopes up for my art to begin with)
So what am I doing now? Eh, gaming mostly. I have university that starts tomorrow so that’s a plus.
Thank you to all my followers who have been with me through these years and to those who did sent a message of support at one time or another. Thank you so much for a chance. And another thank you to Braeburned for giving me the opportunity to participate in the biggest MLP art pack of the year.
