I choose to believe that Lee is using Ed’s feelings (whatever they truly are or aren’t) for her own agenda, because the other option is just so horrifyingly disrespectful to her character. Even if it made any kind of sense. Which it doesn’t.

It has occurred to me that Oswald may be forced by future circumstance to choose between protecting Ed or protecting Martin, and now I’m wondering if I should just add the “thanks, Satan,” gif myself, or ... ?

I think Martin is related to Jerome. I’m guessing half-brothers, with a shared mother. They share some degree of mental illness, which Jerome is going to nurture in baby brother. Martin is ultimately going to become the true Joker, starting with killing Jerome (which Jerome would find hilarious enough to encourage).

I both love and hate this idea.

My Favorite Low/No Spoons Food?

Succotash. Right out of the can. You don’t even need to heat that shit up, just pour off the liquid and spoon it into your face. Or kind of pour it into your face, if the idea of dirtying even one utensil is too much. A pitiful sight to behold, yes, but it’s healthy calories. A complete protein, even. Take that, depression, you utter bastard.

If I’m having a bad extended period of time (or am out of succotash), a “recipe” that works for me: a can of corn, a can of butter beans, salsa or pico de gallo (if I have any), and a can of spinach (not really a succotash thing, but if this is all I’m likely to eat for a while, it’s good to get some green leafys in there). Eat what you want/can, then refrigerate/freeze/share the rest.

God, I wish I could actually write this Fallout/Gotham story that’s kicking around the edges of my brain ... like, there are these chems in Fallout called Mentats which increase intelligence, but addiction to them decreases charisma, and if that isn’t a perfect genesis for the Riddler then I don’t know what is.

I just wonder if sex in Wendimoor is actual ... sex? Or would a couple in love just kiss and cuddle, or maybe share whatever “special hugs” a sheltered, prepubescent boy could conceive? Maybe there are literal fireworks! Maybe there’s a special magical creature who brings babies to people who want them (possibly by dropping boats with babies in near their homes).

I am all about ship and let ship ...

... but I can’t personally ship any of the Blackwing kids in sexytimes ways. I just can’t. They’re too childlike and emotionally damaged/stunted. I only want to pair them with like, all the hugs ever. At least until they’ve had a chance to LIVE, and maybe figure out who they were supposed to be before it was stolen from them.

It’s so weirdly wonderful to be angry at a character’s (somewhat) unexpected heel-turn, not because it was poorly written or OOC, but because HOW COULD YOU, WE WERE ALL ROOTING FOR YOU!!!

The Bad News: I had to spend a couple of days in the hospital due to a lifelong heart issue (supraventricular tachycardia or SVT) suddenly getting much, much worse.

The Good News: They did a procedure (cardiac ablation) that hopefully means I won’t have any more attacks of SVT for the rest of my life.

The Median News: Holy WOW did the procedure (during which you must be awake) SUUuuuUUUuuuUCK ... but there’s barely any residual discomfort, so I’m fine now.

Please don’t let me scare anyone with SVT away from ablation, though, especially if your attacks are frequent or difficult/impossible to stop with vasovagal maneuvers. I HATED the procedure itself, but it was nowhere near as bad as having your heart rate converted with adenosine, it just lasted much, much longer. Also, there were Good Drugs available, which dampened both pain and memory. If this kills off the SVT once and for all, I would go back and do it again in a heartbeat.
