Honestly this is all great advice for anyone who wants to get into writing. If it's something that interests you and you think about, just give it a go! The more you do it, the better you'll get. I started writing fan fiction when I was 15 and I'm 24 now still writing it as well as my own original stories. You might change interests and fandoms, but that's the fun of it all! Over time you'll start to develop a style and your skills will improve, as long as you keep at it, but tbh if it's just a fun thing you want to pick up for shits and giggles, just do what you want and have fun!

An Open Letter to the Wonderful People of AQ

So I’m really soft tonight I guess, but I wanted to thank literally everyone for this amazing platform. Tumblr is trash, but I have never found a group of people that I have connected with so much, and over men in wigs no less. This ride has been amazing.

I got into the drag race fandom my sophomore year of highschool. I was young and niave and going through a really hard time emotionally. So I did what any normal human with an internet connection and too much time on their hands would do, and started writing fan fiction. I was immediately embraced by this (rather small) community of writers. Most specifically @veronicasanders. Who reached out to me three years ago, and who still inspires me to this day. I cannot put into words how much it means that she took time out of her busy life to talk to me, and encourage me to become better. I owe half of my fics to her, whether she knows it or not. 

AQ was pretty small, but the fanbase was growing bigger. I have written before how I believed that was the “Golden Age” for my writing, if you will. There were enough people that we (authors) got comments on every fic that was posted, and the queue was teeming with different pairings every other day. It really was a tight-knit community, and I loved it then. 

I love it now, but in a different way. 

I’m older now (in college), and I took some breaks from writing to really work on myself, and my life. During those breaks I would post maybe a fic every couple of months, and @artificialvixen was my rock during this time. Always supporting me, and sending me love without prompting. Truly an amazing human being, and I would be here till Christmas if I told you all the ways Vixen has impacted my life. 

I have been writing a lot more recently, which is something I am proud of. I am slowly getting used to it again, so bear with me as I attempt to re-vamp myself once again. I hope that I can give back as much as I have been given. I am truly grateful for all the love and support from everyone! Thank you.
