2/ Can you write one where jack had a hard day at work or something and he comes home grumpy and he just hugs you from behind and hides his face I’m your neck and you’re all like “do you want me to run you a bath?” And you just here him mumble into your neck “with a bath bomb too?”
Back from Paris after almost a whole day’s worth of travel combined, Jack was ready to collapse in bed for about the next seventy two hours. But he was craving the comfort of his significant other more than he craved sleep. Sleep is all he’d been doing on the ferry (how he was still tired was a mystery).
Y/N was stood in the kitchen, loading up the dishwasher. Jack wasn’t discouraged by their lack of decorum; their robe would add extra softness. A return home after a trip away was met with a reunion that made him feel as though he and Y/N were still in the honeymoon stage of their eight month relationship. So there was no need for invitation. He simply walked up behind them and slipped his hands around their waist, his face planted in their neck. Y/N stiffened then relaxed a second later once they spotted how was embracing them.
“Hey baby, how was France?”
Humming against their neck was the only response as Jack tightened his grip on them, feeling their body back against his in complete comfort. The tension from his body transferred to Y/N’s and they gently touched his hair. A groan from Jack proved their hypothesis so they gently leant their cheek against him.
“I was just running a bath,” They murmured softly, “Wanna get in with me?”
Lifting his head, Jack mulled over this decision before asking with wide hopeful eyes, “With a bath bomb?”
“I’ll even let you drop it in,” Y/N smiled at him as they cupped his chin. A grin spread across Jack’s face and he pecked their cheek, squeezing their hips before he trudged upstairs to change out of his stinking travel gear.
After dragging up his case and dumping it up at the end of the bed, he followed the sound of water thudding into his bathtub. There were bubbles already but the fluffy white clouds were about to be stained with one of his bath bombs. Like a ceremonial ritual, he held his arm out perpendicular to his body with the bath bomb balanced in his fingers. Then he dropped it. It landed through the bubbles with a plop, regurgitating some of the bathwater up at him. An explosion of yellow and blue merged together in frothy melody as Jack turned off the taps.
Recreating their surprise cuddle from earlier, Y/N snuck up behind Jack and hugged him from behind, “I missed you.”
“I was gone for a day and a half,” Jack teased as he nestled his head against theirs.
“Well, I’m clingy,” Y/N said shamelessly rubbing back. After slipping off their robe to join him in nudity, Y/N hung up their towels on the radiator and dunked into the bath, the now turquoise water with bubbles akin to a cinematic portrayal the ocean in all its foamy glory. Splashing the water in front of them, Y/N waved for Jack to get in. He finished folding his clothes, placing them on the toilet lid and clambered into the bath facing them but, after Y/N made a better suggestion, he shuffled up against them.
Cupping the water in their palm, Y/N soaked his skin that the water level couldn’t reach so that when Jack did lie down against their chest there was minimal chafing. He shuffled a little to get settled between their legs and bent his at the knee to fit properly in the tub. Their arms looped under his broad shoulders and linked fingers on his tummy.
“I missed you too” He mumbled then twisted his head to look up at Y/N, “Maybe next time I go abroad, you can come with me.”
“I’d like that,” Y/N flattened his gelled hair by rubbing their cheek across it like he had done before he left. With his new grown stubble, he’d made the joke that he was leaving them with something to remember him by – beard burn.
Lazing in this affection, Jack started humming again like he was a cat stretching in the one patch of sunlight after having his fill of food. Then it turned into giggles as Y/N laid kisses across his hairline, his hands finding theirs to link fingers. In retaliation, he stretched his knees back and forth, sloshing the water up higher until bubbles hit the both in the face and splashed up to their hair.
Only when the water settled did the pair join it in quiet relaxation. Jack thumbed across their hands under the water with his eyes closed and his muscles slackening. Eventually, Y/N went back to his hair and shampooed it with loving tugs before doing their own hair. Then it was back to close eyed cuddling and close lipped smiles. Combined with the smell of the bath bomb and the soporific heat of the steamed bathroom, they were in heaven.
Minutes passed without notice, the pair remained in the bath until the water turned lukewarm.
“I’m gonna stay in a bit longer,” He said quietly as Y/N checked their pruning fingers and shifted underneath him.
“Ok,” They kissed his cheek before slipping out from behind him and leaving the bathroom, drying off with a fluffy towel. Sinking deeper into the tub, Jack dunked his head underneath to wash off the shampoo, making sure to keep the soapy water out of his eyes. Then he sloshed the green water over his knees to wash off the last remaining hints of exhaustion. He swapped which cupped hands the blended colours sloshed in until it was all back in the tub.
By the time he finally got out of the tub, he was pruned and ready for more cuddles – drier ones where once again he could just be with Y/N.
