I don’t have the Time to make an in-depth post about this but nobody’s accent or language actually sounds inherently cultured or stupid or beautiful or aggressive or grating, your perception of someone’s accent or language is deeply influenced by the culture you live in and how the culture you live in feels about the people who have that accent or speak that language

I’ve been so busy that I haven’t written notes or listened to lectures in weeks, and I’m still super lazy to put any effort into my notes.. oops 😅
facts, ladies & gentlemen
romance languages are a “learn one get three” kind of deal

If you don’t absolutely need to pay for your textbooks, save yourself a few hundred dollars by reviewing these sites.
A cute little break sheet for you all~ Doing these breaks have helped me a lot more than getting stuck on my phone for 20+ minutes.
imagine waking up refreshed and brewing a cup of coffee while cooking a warm bowl of oatmeal. picture yourself sit in the sun enjoying your fulfilling breakfast while jotting down your thoughts and planning your day. you feel pretty and you feel so good about yourself. you are motivated and end up being very productive. at night you go to bed with a satisfied smile on your face. you are content with life.
Respect to anyone who learns a new language because it’s basically accepting that you’re going to be shitty at something you pour your soul into for at least two years.
Do you think learning a language is boring or are you looking for new ways to make progress? Try some fun language learning activities!
When you have fun, you’ll pick up new words faster and you’ll remember them for a longer time and make more progress without even realizing it. I always try to find language learning activities that are fun and gathered 15 of them in this post -> https://polyglotsdiary.com/fun-language-learning-activities/
English: The boys have the pears. Irish: Tá na piorraí ag na buachaillí. Gothic: Magjus haband paírôs.
Lithuanian: Berniukai turi kriaušes.
Danish: Drengene har pærerne.
Portuguese: os rapazes têm as pêras Italian: i ragazzi hanno le pere
(Dečaci imaju kruške)
Polish: Chłopcy mają gruszki
Bosnian: Momci imaju kruške Turkish: Erkekların armutları var Macedonian: Момчињата ги имаат крушите (Momčinjata gi imaat krušite) Urdu: Ladkon ke nashpati hain
Correction on turkish: Armutlar oğlanlarda
(or “Armutlar erkeklerde”, but i think the first is preferable… saying “oğlanların armutları var” is more like “the boys have pears”, and if you were using the term “erkekler” as “the boys” here you would say “erkeklerin” because of vowel matching stuff)
also i think in german it’s “die Jungen haben die Birnen”
i accidentally wrote erkeklar instead of erkekler but the other stuff i didn’t know :((( also i thought oğlan was a rude word and therefore not used?
Correction on Urdu: Ladkon ke paas nashpatiyaan hain.) Ladkon ke naashpati hain would be an grammatically incorrect version of “the pears are of the guys.”
Punjabi: mundeyaan kol nashpatiyaan haigiaan ne.
(Huḍugagarina hattira pēruhaṇṇagaḷu ive.)
Spanish: los niños tienen las peras
(Is there a better word for pear maybe?)
Me? Books and cleverness. There are more important things: friendship and bravery.

The most fascinating part to me about studyblr isn’t the unique stories and backgrounds each of you have, though that has always been important and amazing. It’s the futures each of you look forward to: the doctors, the translators, the writers, the teachers – and notice I don’t say “aspiring.” You all are here because you aspire, but when you combine that ambition with discipline, your work pays off. You aren’t just on a never-ending path of studying, you are on a path to a goal that opens up many more paths. In even so little as 5 years I could be talking to a medblr that is conducting their first surgeries, saving their first lives. In 10, the high school freshmen interested in social work could be keeping kids off of the streets or teaching their favorite subjects to kids just like them. And the greatest part is, because of the people that you are, it won’t just be a could, a what if. It is a will be. I am not only excited for the work you will do, I am excited for the person you are and will be. I am proud of you.
Where do cats go when they die? Purrgatory.
¿De dónde van los gatos cuando mueren? Purgatorio.
Dude it works also in Italian! ‘Dove vanno i gatti quando muoiono? Nel purGATTOrio’
could also work in french: “où vont les chats quand ils meurent? Au purCHATtoire”
The ultimate pun
IT ALSO WORKS IN PORTUGUESE
“Para onde os gatos vão quando morrem? Para o purGATOrio”
