Some thorbruce stuff I thought of while on the train
- Bruce wants to keep their relationship on the down-low at first. It’s not because he doesn’t think the others won’t support them, but he’s had bad past experiences with this kind of stuff
- Thor doesn’t really understand this, coming from a place where there’s no real discrimination against love, but he respects Bruce’s wishes
- Despite Bruce’s aversion to public displays of affection, he and Thor do start to spend more time together around the avengers compound, eating together and watching the occasional episode of b99
- Bruce is in the lab with Tony when it slips. He moved the wrong way and his shirt pulled, upsetting his collar. Tony actually drops an expensive piece of equipment as he audibly gasps “Is that a hickey!?”
- Bruce just freezes up, knowing it’s pointless to pretend like nothing happened, but not knowing how to respond. He knows he fucked up when Tony runs out of the room
- Tony manages to get to the kitchen before Bruce catches up to him, and has already alerted everyone there to his ‘situation’
- Clint and Steve look up from their game of cards in disbelief, and Natasha almost drops a plate. Bruce tries to slowly back out of the room before they notice, but he runs straight into Thor
- Everyone in the room is staring at Bruce and Thor’s just like “what’s going on guys? Did I miss something”
- Before Bruce can stop him, Tony smirks and says “yeah, Bruce has a hickey” and just waits for Thor’s reaction
- Thor’s kinda just like “??? Yeah I know? I put it there?”
- Steve makes a really embarrassing noise that everyone teases him about later. Natasha actually does drop her plate and Clint jumps up and shouts “Bucky! Get over here you owe me 20 bucks!!” and runs out of the room
- Bruce just burys his face in his hands as Thor stands in the doorway, really confused
- Tony snaps out of his trance and almost squeals as he says “No fuckig way! Dudes, I am so happy for you” and he claps Bruce and Thor on the back and then wanders out aimlessly, a grin plastered on his face
- Bruce looks up at Thor and mutters “well that’s not how I thought it would go down” and Thor just looks down with a really hopeful expression and asks “does this mean I can hug you in public now?” and it melts Bruce’s heart
- They hug
