God knows Thomas Harris is not above some pretentious symbolism but I feel REASONABLY sure he was not thinking “in this next scene, I will have my character symbolically impregnate his baby sister with a vegetable to support his fictional diagnosis.”

I mean. Has this person read Hannibal Rising? It is not a SUBTLE book. If T.Harris wanted the eggplant to symbolize a dick he would have had no problem flat out saying that it looked like a big purple dick.

Also, ANYONE who still argues with goddamn PSYCHOANALYSIS in this day and age is a pretentious ass who probably thinks they’re special and distinguished for referencing Freud, when in reality they’re just loudly admitting that they have zero idea what is or isn’t regarded as relevant in modern psychology. (Hint: It’s not Freud)

Even Bryan Fuller’s Hannibal, master of drawn out metaphors and literary references has the decency to call psychoanalysis a ‘dead religion’.

I think Will has probably in some way never conceived the possibility that Hannibal could be in love. I mean he’s got such a black heart. The awareness that they have this connection is something that Will knows and is probably in some way profoundly ashamed of, and is also, you know, he keeps coming back to and actually… kinda…. fills him with joy, as well. But I don’t think he’d ever give it the name love, ‘cause I don’t think he’d ever associate love with Hannibal

so… that was one of the best weekends of my life once again. it’s all super chaotic in my brain right now & i’ll have to sort it out first & i may have audio recorded a bit of stuff i should listen to later to find smth cool to post

i keep saying that i’m so spoiled by our cast/crew’s genuine respect and involvement in the fandom, but good god, they’re just so fantastic and sweet and polite (the polite thing maybe less for aaron and scott who r precious vulgar dorks)

one of my fondest personal experiences is prolly gonna be being held by bryan when i was going into a total shake attack and my freak-out shouldn’t be his concern, but his reassurement and holding me tighter& tighter when i got worse was like beyond super nice gah. plus his hugs are a+

also fave things : aaron’s and scott’s neverending banter; fuller probably secretly being a duracell rabbit cause i’ve never seen a person with so much energy; hugh’s general existence (gawd he’s so so so lovely and pretty) and him forgetting molly existed for a second cause his brain went straight to hannigram during a question about will’s wedding music; the fannibal musical which was so cool and i’m amazed ppl managed to perform so well with just one rehersal? kudos to u guys. also when demore asked about why hannibal was so important to us - some of the answers hit home quite hard thoughtful sigh

i am sad that i didnt get to talk to more people from tumblr, but i did meet quite a few and they were lovely af. biggest shout-out to @fannibaling and @alphandthend, u guys made these days even more fun than i expected. also @vi0lentquiche & @whatkindofcrazy & @the-winnowing-wind, i wish we could’ve talked more but i’m super happy i got to say hi and hug u at the very least

to all the others i met - thank you for being so wonderful and so so awesome and to all i haven’t met, u are also absolutely awesome and u all made this event an amazing thing to be a part of, bless u so hard and i cried for an hour after leaving because i really didn’t want to that says a lot
