im happy with the guillermo del toro win because latinos are ridiculously underrepresented in movies and at these award shows. if all white women had been nominated for best director, we all know that natalie portman wouldn’t be calling for more diversity in the nominees. white women have an advantage over men (and women) of colour in the industry. overall that comment left a bit of a sour taste in my mouth.

I'm sorry you feel that way. I couldn't agree more that latinos and other poc are extremely underrepresented in hollywood, however, I think greta gerwig deserved at least a nomination. also, considering that best director is the only category that can nominate people of different genders, it was disappointing to see that only men were nominated.

I hate to say that but I’m EXTREMELY disappointed by Radiohead’s recent actions towards Lana del Rey :( I’ve always loved their music but the whole suing thing has left a very bad taste in my mouth. “Get Free” may be a bit similar to “Creep” but it’s definitely not a rip-off - Lana herself stated that she wasn’t inspired by their song. Radiohead made themselves look pretty money hungry by not backing off after she offered them 40% of total profits generated by “Get Free”.

It’s a shame that such a mature, talented and successful band feels the need to bring down a newer artist like that - it’s definitely not something I would expect from them. Not to even mention they were actually sued for ripping-off another song when they released “Creep”, so it’s not like they invented this melody anyway.
