Not gonna lie, it is kind of weird to me to see people be like "The Watcher situation made us realize we don't really like their content as much anymore, have not for a while".

I mean, it is okay to move on from stuff but like... Speak for yourself. I have been enjoying the ride immensely this entire time. I am delighted by the things they create. I have so many warm, lovely feelings about it, you don't even know.

One of the most frustrating things about researching Inuit art was that in the beginning, people did not think of these sculptures as fine art, but crafts so nobody bothered to write any artist names down. Sometimes artists inscribed works with their disc numbers (numbers assigned to individual Inuit by the Canadian government in lieu of their names because white people found them too difficult to pronounce/write down). The database of these numbers are now classified because the government is embarrassed of how dehumanizing this was.This leaves it so that there is no way for scholars like me to find out who created beautiful sculptures like the one above.

I’ve been re listening to PodWatcher on my work commute lately cuz *the events of the past few weeks* actually kind of rekindled my interest in Watcher and I gotta say!

I love steven on the pod. His little comments and takes about everything are so relatable and endearing. I think it’s because I am the type to feel like my mind works in a weird way compared to others or maybe its that I also struggle with human interaction?

Until now, I kind of let Shabbat service just happen to me and did not sing along with the songs. But I want to change that. I want at least be familiar with some of them.

So, I thought why not start at the very beginning (a very good place to start) and now I am listening to different versions of Ma Tovu on youtube to familiarize myself more with the melody.

And not gonna lie, this version just made me tear up.

I want to sing this on Friday.
