i need people do do me a favor and be absolutely normal about it

i have a completely normal coworker who does music and stuff and its good music and i want to send my army of followers to his video on yt and just +like it or something. something to boost him in the algorithm

the issue is no one can let him know this second life i live on the internet because if he finds out i have 25k followers on tumblr or 10k on twitter etc then the questions will flow and i will not be prepared for the conversation about werewolves that follows

Ok heres the video, just +like it and if you want to comment just say you're from reddit or facebook or somewhere

If someone DOES want to share it to reddit that'd be awesome and I'd love you but I dont have an active account there

Just enjoy the music yall. Its honestly really good if you like some classic sounding R&B. The man's voice reminds me of usher to some extent with a little more gravel. Its honestly just sex. Its really really good and he only have 114 subs and the video only has like 90ish likes or something. Honestly its sad. He sounds amazing.

Yes!! Hes REALLY good and his music is giving 90's RnB. It's fantastic and his voice is great and I really want him to blow up

Alright, to ao3's soon to be arriving Wattpad Refugees, a basic guide to general user culture:

1.) Unlike Wattpads vote system that let's you like each chapter, the ao3 equivalent kudos only allows one per work. Everyone is generally quietly annoyed about this. To engage with each chapter, you're heavily encouraged to comment. Trust me, it makes people's day.

2.) Ao3 has no algorithm. By default it's latest updated work first. You can find things to your taste through searches, filters and tags.

3.) 'No archive warnings apply' and 'user has chosen not to use archive warnings' mean two very different things. No archives warnings means the work is free from any content that could require a warning tag (character death, graphic depictions of violence, non-con, etc). User has chosen not to use archive warnings means it could contain any of the warning content, be it hasn't been explicitly tagged. Treat it like an allergen. No archive warnings apply is allergen free. User has chosen not to use archive warnings, may contain traces or whole chunks of the allergen. If you're likely to have a bad reaction, maybe don't take the risk.

4.) Speaking of warnings, ao3 has very few restrictions on the type of work that's allowed. Whatever your personal thoughts or feelings on that are, thats how the site is. You're likely to run across some dark subject matters and a lot of people are uncomfortable with reading that. You're well within your rights not like these works and have your opinion on whether they should be allowed, but harassing the authors of such works (or any works) is more likely to come back on you than them. Ao3 operates on a strong policy of 'don't like, don't read'. Use the tagging system to your full advantage to only engage with the kind of works you want to see.

We look forward to welcoming you all and seeing the fantastic works you create. Happy writing!

I for one am not annoyed about the one kudos per work rule; I think it works very well to 1) level the playing field between one-shots and longfics, since the latter naturally gain more hits and comments and otherwise tend to become the default form and 2) to incentivize commenting.

I have never wanted to leave More Kudos and I am very happy with the fact that each kudos on my work represents a unique account. I like when the one-kudo-limit means I get a 'bonus kudos! <3' comment.

I think that was an excellent design choice overall.

To clarify 3) just a little bit because there is some confusion about this.

"No archive warnings apply" refers specifically to these Archive Warnings: graphic depictions of violence, major character death, rape/non-con, underage sex.

PTSD, abuse, toxic relationships and whatever else might be prudent to tag for does not fall under this category! A story can be heavy on the angst and trauma and still qualify for "no archive warnings apply."

Here's what AO3 says itself on the matter when you create a new work and click on the little "?" next to Archive Warnings:

Warning Tags The Archive of Our Own has chosen, for legal and other reasons, to mandate that users either warn for—or explicitly choose not to warn for—a short list of common warnings: Graphic Depictions of Violence, Major Character Death, Rape/Non-Con, and Underage. We understand that creators may wish to not warn for some of these things, or to warn for additional content, and have provided options for them to do so within this framework. Choose Not To Use Archive Warnings: Use this if you don't want to warn for anything. You may also choose this option if you don't know what you should warn for; if you don't like warning for certain topics or warnings in general; if you want to avoid some spoilers, but not others; etc. Graphic Depictions Of Violence: This is for gory, graphic, explicitly described violence. Exactly where to draw the line is your call. Major Character Death: Please use your best judgment about who counts as a major character. No Archive Warnings Apply: Use this if the Archive warnings don't apply to your content. (In other words, if it contains no graphic depictions of violence, major character death, rape/non-con, or underage sexual activity.) Rape/Non-Con: This is your call. If you think your content may be seen as containing non-consensual sexual activity, but you don't feel like using this warning or you're not sure if you should, you always have the option of using "Choose Not to Use Archive Warnings" instead. Underage: This is for descriptions or depictions of sexual activity by characters under the age of eighteen. (This doesn't include dating activity like kissing or vague references with no actual description or depiction.) This warning generally applies to humans; if you are creating a pornographic work about space aliens who only live for a month or thousand-year-old vampires with twelve-year-old bodies, please just use your best judgment. You are always free to specify characters' ages or to use "Choose Not to Use Archive Warnings". You can also use the "Additional Tags" field to give other or more detailed warnings.

Please pay attention to this distinction both as a writer and as a reader!

Also: for relationships we distinguish between A/B and A&B where the first refers exclusively to shipping characters romantically and/or sexually. Anything tagged as A&B means a platonic relationship!

Again, please pay attention to this both as a writer and as a reader!

no cause some of the shit y'all are saying has me genuinely worried that you don't understand the difference between immigration and SETTLER COLONIALISM. y'all do realize that if jewish people just mass migrated to palestine and lived peacefully among palestinians as neighbors and countrymen, then none of this would be a problem. right? you get that, right? you get that our issue was never "there's too many jews here" but rather "why am i getting kicked out of my house." RIGHT?

guy who's never met a levantine person in his life:

anyway can you guys not do scientific racism in my notes please

Living in an age where everyone has phones on them all the time and first hand accounts of the IDF rounding hundreds of people up in hospitals & executing them come out from survivors and witnesses on the day it happens and are immediately publicly accessible to nobody assholes like me, you might think that even in a racist barbarian shithole like the United States, the naked, obvious, & terrible truth of what has occurred would be enough to convince some of the American ruling class to jump ship from supporting the funding of a genocide being read into the digital archives in real time but apparently no. Even when weeks after the fact the mass graves of doctors, patients, men, women, & children executed with their hands ties behind their backs are finally exhumed, Capitalists as a class and as individuals are happy to straight up ignore or even support it. "More please!" Congress begs as they overwhelmingly vote in favor of dozens of additional billions in weapons & funds for Israel.

can we just have, like, any feminist movement whatsoever. did everyone just stop caring?

feminism became a declawed commodified marketable trend and then trends changed and everyone just decided to pretend we won feminism despite nothing changing? despite things actively getting worse? is that what happened?

the simplicity of lactase supplements is so funny to me. it costs like $4 to circumvent evolutionary biology. want to eat dairy but your body doesn’t produce the enzyme necessary to digest lactose? the devs haven’t patched that yet but you can download a mod
