I can only speak for myself on this one but AO3 is my main resource because I prefer the layout, the search engine and the filters, but I definitely ready fic on other sites too. I agree with Admin Janelle. Honestly, I can’t with AFF, just as a personal preference. I can’t deal with the layout, and from what I’ve seen on AFF, maybe it’s cause the writers aren’t native English speakers, but the grammar in those… So maybe I’m missing a gem on AFF. Oh well :/ So I rec mainly from AO3, just cause the word count and stuff are easy to find there, and from what I’ve noticed, tumblr is mainly xReader…

I can’t read non-con between members. That hurts too much. I can barely read non con at all. I’m not a big fan of manipulation. Like taking advantage or treating each other like peasants is awful to me. the whole ‘You are mine and no one else can have you’ possessiveness doesn’t sit well with me at all. I’m a firm believer in anybody has the right to do whatever they’d like to do bc they are their own person.

Idk what my writing style is but I guess it’s pretty complex, detailed, a lot of imagery? People say I tend to have a poetic edge to it, but idk, i don’t notice my own writing style the way others do. 

What makes me go  ‘damn this story is hella nice’ is usually if it’s got multidimensional and realistic characters. Anything that is realistic is really right up my alley i will sell my soul for that kinda shit ya kno, and stuff that great flow to it when i’m reading. that’s what makes me go 'damn this story is hella nice’

I’m going through all these old drafts and wow sorry about these super old asks being answered now, but here is my bad attempt at clearing out our inbox/trying to be more active after suddenly going MIA for the past year yikes. New year, new me though right?

My personal writing style is almost all dialogue, and I’m really trying to change that. I’m really bad at writing internal monologues, but I really love reading them. I just can’t seem to do the whole “show not tell” while writing internal dialogues, so I tend to show everything through conversation. 

As with Admin Sarah, I really love realistic fics. Not in the sense of non magical or canon, because I am a sucker for fantasy and mythology and the like, but the characters must be relatable. Also imagery! I’m super impressed by the authors that can imagine a whole new world so vividly and can actually portray that in their writing.

That’s..an interesting question. For me, it’s kind of weird. I really love new twists on cliche plotlines, even though that’s a little contradictory. I would really love to see someone put a plot twist in an otherwise cliche plot. But I also really love magic and action, so I think I’d like to see a plot-twist cliche Hogwarts AU ahaha.
