So the TIA has decided that they’re gonna have new requirements for car tyres and now the STILL IN PERFECT CONDITION tyres on my mum’s SUV need to be replaced because apparently they don’t have an ECE number.

Unfortunately those tyres aren’t cheap as they’re all season and also huge.

We found cheapish (ahahaha…) ones (600€ a set) online but the garage where we took the car for inspection said that those tyres will probably also not have that ECE number and we’d better buy the tyres via them to make double sure. THEY quoted us a price of about 900€…

WHO HAS THAT KIND OF MONEY LYING AROUND, LET ALONE FOR TYRES?!

Not us so my mother started a fundraiser.

Without the tyres the car won’t pass inspection, without the inspection she’s not allowed to drive that car, withouth that car she can’t go to jobs and also the car is also used as ad space for her business so no one will see the advertising either.

We had saved up about 500 quid for minor repairs on the car and a new oil filter and oil change and the inspection but now they want my mum to buy an entire new set of all season SUV tyres, even though the ones on the car are still in good condition, because apparently they don't have some stupid number printed on them.

The new tyres will be about 600-900 fucking euro!

We don't even have 100 to spare.

Without the tyres the car won't pass inspection, without inspection the car will be decommissioned.
