Hii I just wanted to ask where you got your planner from with the days on one side and the other side just for notes, would you be able to tell me the brand? I really need one like that it seems perfect!!

Hi! It's a leuchturrm (sorry I definitely spelt this wrong) planner! They have a few layouts I just like this one best. Moleskine also do a version of it, but I prefer the month calendar layout pages that this one has xx

5/03/2021 I took a break from social media after such a busy month I had to reduce my phone usage, hence the disappearance! I’m currently making maps for my Urban Design: Place Making module and its kind of lonely work, so I’ve made some new spotify playlists to get through it. Hope everyone had a nice February - the lockdown was getting quite hard for me! x Emily

09/02/2021 The snow is so peaceful so I've moved all of my desk bits to face the window. I had a crazy busy day yesterday but hopefully that makes today easier. I'm missing my boyfriend a lot today, we had the best snow days when we weren't long distance. X Emily

7/02/2021 I’ve been working on my notion databases to keep track of my grades all morning while it snows! I only have a few marks back at the moment and I’m currently averaging about 77(?) so that’s good but I feel so much pressure to keep it up. I’ve been getting to grips with notion and I’m really liking it for some things; you can see all of my databases to the left. Let me know if you’ve used notion and what you thought, I’ve not used javascript before! xx Emily

Hi! I'm actually new to your tumblr page, and got some questions towards the study you've taken, so i'm actually an urban planner student (in bachelor study). Based on the study you've taken at UCL's Bartlett School of Planning, do u using GIS apps a lot? and if so, do u find it hard?

Hi! So my course is Spatial Planning Msc, so there should be online info you can find about it. Basically this course is what you make it. There isn’t any requirement to use GIS at all, however as I have previous experience I’m likely to use it in my dissertation. They have given us a lot of sheets, examples, and workshops on graphic skills including GIS and Adobe and AutoCAD, so if you don’t like GIS and like something else then there will be absolutely no pressure to use it. However I would check on your own course’s requirements and if you’re unsure contact the course programmer who might be able to put you in touch with the course rep who can help you. The GIS software we use is QGIS, but I also have experience with R and Rstudio, so it comes still as a challenge to me but I understand the basics. In my geography undergrad R and Rstudio were compulsory modules for all of year 1 and 2. I hope that helps? There’s a lot of online help with QGIS if you do want to use it.

Hey Emily, I hope you are well at the moment :) Take care!!

Hi! I’m doing okay! I have a lot of deadlines and group work at the moment with very little solo work hence the lack of photos! I hope you’re well too <3

Hi! It is the Black Pilot Custom 74 Fountain Pen, with a Soft Fine Nib.

I went to this shop called Choosing Keeping in Seven Dials (London) and tried out all of the pens that they had in the budget! I love using it and I literally haven’t picked up a biro since I got it in September! I haven’t tried a Montblanc one though they look so smart!

Very sorry if some found that post inappropriate, although I whole heartedly agree with it and have experienced that same issue myself I have deleted the post as I don't feel it fits with the message of this blog, as a platform for studies. However, if you do like to read that sort of content do head to my personal blog @fiercelittlestars . I hope everyone understands x

imo buying study notes from someone wouldnt be as effective as taking them yourself, though I have known people who buy them. I guess it could work for some people? it's effectively like...buying a textbook thats more concise right? At least, if you get good ones. Not sure how I feel about a company selling them rather than just regular students, unless theyre just a place for students to post their work? If its a company making mass copies doesnt that just make them study guides? (its cool if you dont wamna publish this ask btw and this isn't necessarily saying its bad, I've just personally never found it necessary to buy notes, though I have borrowed from friends occasionally)

Thank you for your message, neither have I, but I do see how it could help people who find writing notes is not the best method for them but speaking them aloud etc. It is sold by regular students, it seems the company is the platform who takes a % of that sale similarly to many online selling platforms. All input here is good input I’m really interested what everyone thinks.

Are you just active on tumblr or other social media too?

Hi! Kind of yes kind of no! I do have a studygram account! Its @planned.by.emily on IG.

I also do have a personal one but it doesn’t paint me in a very flattering light as there are a lot of clubbing photos and photos of friends so I think for them I need to keep that one private. I just don't have the time to start a tiktok or youtube channel but I have considered it!

How do people feel about purchasing study materials online such as study notes? A company has reached out to me asking if I would take part in a short video about what being a studyblr is like. It seems fun, but I’m not sure about the company.

Please put your comments in a reblog so I can see them all together!

Tagging some mutuals of mine and some studyblrs who have spoken with me before in case they have thoughts (hi guys) but please anyone let me know if you have an opinion x

26.5.19 I did my first exam! I didn’t say straight away because I was feeling a bit funny about it, but now I’m revising for my second and last ever exam of uni! Also who knows groovy chick?? My mum got me these amazing groovy chick socks. X Emily

It's so important to keep study notes that might be useful in the future! Reblogging this because the notes I was making here, are the same notes I'm using for my current postgraduate essay.

Winter Studying Challenge

16th January: scarves or sweaters? Oh that's so hard! I think I prefer a really good scarf because you can look so cute in them, but they can get in the way! I like layers. This is the other angle of my kitchen. Sorry for posting so much in here and not my bedroom - I've found I'm more productive when my mum keeps me from being distracted.

Winter Studying Challenge

15th January: would you rather wear a winter coat in the summer or a swimming costume in the winter? Honestly I would rather a swimming costume in the winter! I hate being too hot in summer! I know I've missed loads of days of these but I've been working so hard it's been dark by the time I remember to take a photo! X Emily
