Is this for real? I dont know what to think.

For real, for R E A L

We figure it doesn’t hurt to give it one last shot to get our voices heard when they’re discussing it already without us. Let’s just show them how much we love it and that’s it. We literally cannot lose anything else :)

Pitches! Long time no chat. Today we got news from The Hollywood Reporter that Disney might be using Pitch as a bargaining chip to keep Dan Fogelman at Fox. We are all good with that! Now, we don’t know if we have much time or what the odds are, but we have been given an extra at bat and we need ALL hands on deck.

We are putting together some ideas now for some activities that we can do to grab the attention of the folks at Disney. If you have any ideas please let us know. We know in the past we’ve asked a lot and you ALWAYS showed up. Many of you never gave up hope. Let’s show them who the Pitches are!

Follow us on Twitter @pitchstreetteam & keep using the hashtag #RevivePitch in the meantime. Tweet EVERYONE. We’ll be back with next steps soon!

Pitch Documentary

Ginny Baker: The Girl , ESPN 30 for 30 Documentary

Hey Pitches! It’s your Pitch Street Team organizers here, Kels and Sabs. We know it’s been awhile since you guys have heard from us other than our bitter tweets on Twitter lol so let’s just cut right to the chase

We want to honor Ginny Baker in a big way and we need your help! Over the last few months, aisde from going through the stages of grief, crying, & not writing Dana and Gary petty letters at all, we’ve been watching those ESPN 30 for 30 documentaries. If you know us (and ya’ll do) it’s safe to say we’ve been inspired.

We know that if Baker had been a real life female pitcher in the MLB she would’ve eventually gotten her own ESPN documentary. Anddddddddd…….  since we love her so much and she meant so much to us, we figured we’d make our own 30 for 30 style documentary to show our girl some love!

Who: We are hoping, with your help - the best fans in the entire world (who literally come from the ENTIRE world), to make a documentary called “Ginny Baker: The Girl

What: Our goal is for it to be more in the style of an ESPN 30 for 30 short so no longer than 20-22 minutes. (If you’ve never seen a 30 for 30 short there are a TON on youtube. We recommend the one about the birth of the high five - it is super interesting)

When: It is our goal ideally to release the doc by January 6, 2018 which will be the one year anniversary of the first Pitch Street Team project that started it all, the #KeepHerInTheGame video. *cue our sobs right here*

How Can I get involved: Glad you asked! We need some folks who aren’t afraid to go on camera (nothing fancy just your phone camera or whatever you have works - really - any camera works) to talk about the show and what it meant! Email us at RenewPitch@gmail.com to let us know that you want to be included in the project!!

Once we gather our participants we will email out some guidelines for shooting and some questions for you to answer on camera. We hope that even if you don’t participate that you’ll tune in and celebrate the final project with us!

We hope this will be a fun project and a way to keep Baker’s legacy alive. She brought us all together and we feel this is a great way to honor the bond she created within us! Also we kinda miss you guys.

Hope you’re all doing well and living your best lives!!

We Aint Done Nothin’ Yet. Believe that.

So Paris Barclay who played an integral role in the making of Pitch is going to be in Shondaland. Since we can’t have the lovely Kylie Bunbury as a female baseball player, we think a female firefighter would be enough to soothe our wounded hearts!

Head on over to Twitter and join us in tweeting and asking Paris Barclay @Harparbar to cast Kylie in the untitled Grey’s Anatomy spinoff!

If You’re Still Writing Pitch Fic

Thank you. Please keep it up if you can find it in your heart to do so. We still very much love Baker and Lawson and it’s great to see them alive in fan works!

If you’ve started a Bawson baby fic please finish it. Historically only one or two have ever been finished. We’re always wondering about those ones.

We’ve missed you guys and hope that you are well. Say hello over on Twitter @PitchStreetTeam sometime.

So are we officially done now? :( I'm so sorry if this sounds ungrateful. I really am sooo appreciative of everything you guys have done. Thank you for giving us something to hope for

We are officially done now, sorry. Thank you for supporting the campaign!!

HUGE thank you to everyone who has participated in any of the numerous campaigns over the past half year. We love you all so much and together we did make a difference. Believe that. We made our voices heard - that’s just as important as getting the outcome we hoped for.

Thank you x a million to every single Pitch who helped out in any way they could. We love ya.

Dan Fogelman retweeted the picture of the banner! Is there any way we can ask him what his opinion is on bringing Pitch back? He's the only person who hasn't said much about it

He did! He seemed very in support of the idea!! He loves Pitch very much and from his tweet he seemed to be in full support of wanting to bring it back. Which is to be expected as he is the co-creator!

We don’t know of any direct means of contact for him other than twitter!

Where are you guys? I miss you're posts 😭

We’re around! Haven’t dropped off the face of the earth! Hard to believe it we know, but we do have real lives. We’ve been out here hustling for a long time and we now need to focus on our self-care.

We love the pitches and we’ll always be around for you guys! We just won’t be running anymore campaigns unless something really calls for it.

Thanks so much for supporting us!!!

1. I have an idea! So like most of Pitch's fans I'm really not ready to let the show go. It's just too important. I know Kevin Falls talked about doing a goodbye episode but what if we campaigned for a goodbye season?

2. Ok so hear me out: I’ve been reading about shows that have been saved by fans and it seems that when fans campaigned for them they were brought back for a season or two (e.g. Roswell, Jericho). I know we would all love Pitch to continue for multiple seasons but it seems like that prospect is unlikely and I think we would much rather have a full season (with potentially more than 10 eps…) to see Ginny’s story wrapped up.
3. If we beg&plead for a farewell season they might listen. We already know that we have Pitch’s creators and actors attention. Now what we need is to find a place to put Pitch and I think with the creators help we can do that! It’s happened before it can happen again!

Hi there anon!

We feel your pain. We are also in despair because we know Ginny Baker deserved better. We have been asking ourselves for a month and half how Fox couldn’t see the gem they had in their possession. Ginny Baker deserved a better ending to her story than she got.

We’re going to be frank with you, not because we want to damper your hope or crush any spirits, but because you need to lower your expectations to take care of your heart. Kevin said it was unlikely that he could get them to give us a closure episode but that he was trying regardless. That is an incredible gesture from our showrunner to the fans. He’s doing his best on his end to get us SOMETHING even if it’s not ultimately what we wanted (which was at least one more short season).

We have read all of the literature on past fan campaigns in preparation for our own. We know that sometimes fan campaigns work and sometimes they just don’t. Unfortunately, there have been campaigns in the past that had very high levels of participation that still didn’t bring their show back.

We have been campaigning for six months. Six, very solid months. Consistently. No days off. No vacations. Like, literally Kelci was in the middle of the ocean with her family and Sabrina with hers on a mainland trip at one point working on the campaigns every day.

We have been in the trenches the longest and we are tired. We have been begging and pleading for half a year. We have proved we aint too proud to beg, but the time for begging has passed. No amount of begging will get us a whole goodbye season.

Let’s just be real ok, Kevin saying it’s unlikely we’ll get a closure episode means asking for a whole closure season will be even more unlikely. We cannot in good conscience ask people to ask for something that they will most likely not get. The odds are against us on this one and it hurts so much but we have to accept it. We cannot ask for a mile when they’ve extended us maybe an inch. Maybe. It’s not set in stone, we may not get it and we have to face that fact as well. While we hope that we do get it so we can have some closure, we know that it may not happen.

We need to start taking care of ourselves and protecting our hearts. We understand your passion because we feel it too, but you need to lower expectations. We’ll be so blessed to get a series finale episode.

I really don't believe that the fight for Pitch is over. I do not accept that in the age of tv shows like The Handmaid's Tale and Orange is the New Black and movies like Wonder Woman and Hidden Figures, that Pitch wasn't successful. Given the state of our world right now, Pitch is right on the money when it comes to representation. Not only is Pitch perfect for the times, it may even be ahead of its time. I think it's creators know this and there must be something we can do!

Sorry to break it to you but, the fight for Pitch is over. We have been going hard for just over six solid months now.

Six. Solid. Months.

Consistently.

No days off.

We understand how you feel. We literally feel the same exact way - it is an INJUSTICE. In our day and age a show as moving, powerful, and fantastic as Pitch should not be cancelled. Ginny’s story should not be cut short. But it is and it was. It is infuriating. We GET it. We could go on and on about what makes Pitch so special and so great and so needed, in fact we have - in dozens of letters sent out to Fox, Hulu, & etc. But the fact remains that despite our efforts, it is gone. It will not be coming back if we are to believe what we’ve heard from Fox and Hulu. Maybe we can get some closure, but we don’t know if that’s going to happen so we need to start taking care of ourselves & each other.

The creators know how special the show is, they fought for TEN years to even get it made. They get it too. But it isn’t up to them, and it unfortunately isn’t up to us either. Pitch was ahead of it’s time. We have to try and start to heal, we cannot keep tearing ourselves up over this. Self-care is so important right now. It hurts and it’s going to hurt for a long time. We have to do our best to heal our hearts that is the only step left.

So crazy idea but I was trying to find an email address for Dan Fogelman and apparently you can only get it by getting the variety insight service. I think you can get a free trial but you have to be an organization and you guys are an organization if you ask me! We know that Dan and Kevin Falls already know about Pitch Street Team, by getting either (or both) of their email addresses and asking them about Pitch directly, I'm sure they'd respond to you guys! Idk just a thought ☺️

Hey there!! Thank you so much for that, we like to think we’re an organization too hahaha

As for emailing Dan or Kevin, we really don’t feel that it is something that is necessary right now. We know they both heard us and they know what we want. We made it pretty clear that we want more Pitch and they are super aware of that. They want more Pitch probably just as much if not MORE than we do. It is clearly something that is just out of their control, otherwise we probably wouldn’t have been cancelled to begin with.

Bottom line: they know we want more, we know they’re doing all they can to get us at least a little something. So, it doesn’t really seem necessary to send an email at this time. We’re all on the same page here, you know?

Plus, we’re all about the hand written letters at PST lololol

Thanks for supporting the #PickUpPitch efforts!!

you said if a network was going to pick up a show they would do it by the end of june. so by my calculation we still have 17 days left. are there any ideas left in the thinking tank. one last push for every network to see.

We did, just based on history the likelihood of a pick up drops sharply after June is over. However, we made it pretty clear that the banner over ATX was our last big push. We got our answer and we have to accept it.

We know that you guys don’t want to let this go because you all love Ginny and the show SO MUCH. We get that because we do too. However, there is nothing more that we can do at this point. We’ve been heard, which is all we could have asked for. We did not get the answer we liked but at least they listened to us and responded. That’s an accomplishment in and of itself.

We cannot keep asking you guys spend your hard-earned money on this knowing the answer we know now. If ya’ll want to send letters/postcards/etc to Hulu or MLB Network or Netflix or even to Fox to complain and get your feels out we cannot stop you. But we cannot be the ones telling you to do it everyday anymore. We just can’t.

We love You. We love Ginny. The time for acceptance is here. It’s going to be difficult but we have to face the music sometime. We stood in the middle of our scariest stage & sang our song. We have to be proud of that. Sometimes, the journey is more important than the destination. And we had a really fantastic journey together didn’t we Pitches?

Know that each of you accomplished extraordinary things on this journey and we, Kelci & Sabrina, are so proud of each and every one of you.

So is the campaign officially over. Are we no longer targeting Hulu? Or any other network

Yep! We are officially retired (and no we don’t like it much either)!

Hulu has already given us our answer, so it doesn’t seem prudent to keep sending them mail. Netflix would very much like the fan campaigns to stop, and MLB Network just feels like a long-shot despite their want need for scripted content.

We have done all we can do. It’s time we start trying to heal. Our mission now is to keep Ginny’s legacy alive so she can change other’s lives the way she changed ours. How do we do that? We live our lives the Baker way and we talk about her as much as we can and introduce her story to new folks. That’s all that’s left. We love her, but at some point we will have to let her go.

FAQs About #PickUpPitch @ ATX Festival

Did Pitch Fans really fly a plane with a #PickUpPitch banner over ATX Festival?

We sure did! We were seen over the two venues where Mr. Hulu (Craig Erwich), Kevin Falls, and Paris Barclay had panels. Our pilot flew through Austin too!!

Did the cast and crew see or hear about our plane?

Yes, they did and they seemed quite impressed! Check it out:

Great! So is Hulu going to #PickUpPitch? When do we start signing contracts and shooting?

Not so fast there Pitchers. We contacted a few reporters before our plane flew over ATX including Jarett Wieselman of @buzzfeed. During the Presidents of TV panel, where Mr. Hulu himself was speaking, someone did bring up our plane! Jarett relayed his message to us on Twitter after the panel because he is the nicest! Unfortunately, because Pitch didn’t have more than one season Hulu can’t really determine how large of a consistent following Pitch has. Therefore, they have decided to pass on picking us up. (Mr. Erwich admired our passion and creativity though, which is still totally a win!!)

Okay, so Hulu passed...What are our next steps?

Pitch Street Team has been leading the fight to get Pitch back on the air since December. Yeah, that’s six months now. We have exhausted ourselves and what we feel are our best options. For now, we think it might be time to hang up our cleats.

We are still hopeful about that series finale wrap up episode that Kevin talked about a few weeks ago. Of course it is a long shot, but Dan Fogelman and Kevin saw our dedication to the cause and they know how much this fanbase loves the show. Hopefully that lights a fire under them and they will go back to Fox and demand….errr um ask nicely again on our behalf for one final episode.

Hey head over to Twitter and ask them to do this on our behalf if you want to. We deserve it! Baker deserves it!

Pitch Street Team will still be around, so don’t think we’re just gonna up and disappear off the face of the planet, but as for now we just don’t have any more campaign activities planned.

It’s not the ending that we wanted or worked so hard for, but we went out on the highest high. We went where no fandom has gone before. We sent an AIRPLANE!! People heard us and we exercised our right to express ourselves. That’s all we can really have asked for and we got that.

You Pitches are to be applauded.

This one will hurt for awhile, but let’s square our shoulders and ask life “What else you got?”

Baker resonated with the two of us specifically and all of us fans very deeply. It's like losing a friend. But we gotta keep it moving, we gotta keep living our best lives. It's what Ginny would want.

As Ginny would say: it’s time for us to,
