I'm a black trans man that's gnc and I never see anyone represent me or anyone even acknowledge people like me exist(unless we're fucking dead) so I kinda just take matters into my own hands and base my art around that because it's the only way I can truly express myself.

Need help in finding Chinese LGBTQ+ people!

Hi all, I'm currently writing an article on LGBT community in China for a pretty big independent Russian media. And I need a few people who would be willing to tell about their experience. Here are some details:

• I'll ask several questions in writing, here, via email, or on other social media platforms of convenience;

• I'm looking both for those who live in China and for those who left;

• I'm interested in any story: activists, more or less open people, or those who live in the closet;

• this can be done anonymously: I won't mention your name and/or place of living if the person doesn't want to reveal them;

• the article is in Russian, but it's possible that it will be translated to English later.

The 2024 Gender Census is now open!

The 11th annual international gender census, collecting information about the language we use to refer to ourselves and each other, is now open until 13th June 2024.

It’s short and easy, about 5 minutes probably.

After the survey is closed I’ll process the results and publish a spreadsheet of the data and a report summarising the main findings. Then anyone can use them for academic or business purposes, self-advocacy, tracking the popularity of language over time, and just feeling like we’re part of a huge and diverse community.

If you think you might have friends and followers who’d be interested, please do reblog this blog post, and share the survey URL by email or at AFK social groups or on other social networks. Every share is extremely helpful - it’s what helped us get 40,000 responses last year.

Comfortably over 7,000 responses so far! It is about 1,000 responses per hour at the moment. :) There's not a lot more to add at this point, it's all very whirlwindy, and I'm going to take a break and have a late evening fried egg sandwich - keep it up folks! 😁✨
