My boyfriend has a good friend who asked if we were interested in a throuple a few days ago and it has been so overwhelming... I like the person well enough but this is just, aside from the typical difficulties with a new relationship, all positives for my boyfriend and all negatives or neutrals for me

The sorts of people to discriminate against trans women do not look at clockable trans men and think “that’s a man”. They think “that’s a fucked up woman who refuses to conform to societal expectations”. Fucked up women who refuse to conform do not get male privilege, even if they’re actually trans men being misgendered

A lot of trans people stay visibly trans for their entire lives, and visibly trans people do not get the same gender based privileges as cis people, even if they have the social title of “man”

did you know that for every type of trans guy there is an equivalent trans girl too? so did you know there are also trans WOMEN who don’t pass too and that, due to transmisogyny, they are actually treated worse than trans men who don’t pass? because what trans women are seen as (disgusting predatory monsters) is seen as worse than what trans men are seen as?

it is nonsense to suggest that trans men literally only benefit from male privilege when they totally pass & are stealth. male names are preferred on resumes, masculinity is treated as less frivolous and more logical than femininity as two random examples (that are commonly discussed in feminism, a school of thought you should look up). like, sorry, but for every time a trans guy has been treated badly for not passing, a trans girl has been treated worse for the same. this is obvious to anybody who spends any amount of time around a significant number of trans girls.

My queers, we really need to put the "no men" thing away. Men are not inherently bad. There are queer men. There are questioning men. There's men that are just plain cool. Denying these men a space at our table is not helping - except the TERFs. I just came off the back of reading a transphobe gleeful rant about the need to have pride without men - They of course mean me. This kind of stuff is damaging to me and I really need us all to take a step back and maybe kill this "men dni, men not allowed" stuff. What you mean is "no men who are going to do mean stuff to me." And frankly those men won't give a shit about that kind of boundary.

But I promise you there's a fleet of good honest men who will see that and be sad they're not allowed in your version of queer spaces.

The TERFs have gotten ahold of this post and are doing a lot to try and dehumanize me or send me death threats because of this. Some of those blogs were children or very close to it. I can't tell you how that horrifies me to see people caught up in a hate movement that obliterates self-examination so young. Those are precious days being stolen from those people. Being trans I know what it's like to lose that time and never get it back.

However it's important to recognise that there's clearly something in this message of tolerance that they don't want to get out, and foolishly by repeatedly reblogging versions of my post, they're actually raising the profile of the original message.

I'm quite weary of getting death threats, let's show them our compassion and unity will always overcome their isolation and hatred.
