hey i wanna talk about smthin that’s been kinda a huge issue esp for us destiny blogs that aren’t guardians— && its about guardians. no one in particular but kinda a noticed rpc fanon habit.

he’s right & lemme explain. there is a serious wannabe god complex that guardians tend to accidentally give themselves to & its getting out of hand in threads n shit. where there is no limitations, no fear. constant mouthing off etc etc to characters that are point blank canonly their equal or more despite their mortality. i’ve semi mentioned this before in regards to just myself, but now it’s a bit more.

i believe firmly the issue lies with the fact that we tend to separate certain features from GAMEPLAY from ROLEPLAY. things like collecting lore translates into the guardian being all knowing despite the fact that lore is meant for you the player so we get issues with god modding information a guardian has no business knowing. or underestimating any of the side characters( like the vanguard or DLC characters have been around in this fight longer than you guardian. && not just them, but folk like Spider, the Hive Gods, Reef Awoken, etc. these characters have been out on their own with no light raw doggin life being far harder than you on just 1 life to live. ) & becoming witty or outright disrespectful. there are countless posts on tumbles that address this issue faster & better than me.

it’s not okay for us to abuse the mechanics of the game that make things ooc easier & ignore the things in place that make us less op. nerfs & cool downs are a thing to even you out for a reason it sucks when i need to wait 1 min for a grenade reload or a super but it makes us less op it gives us balance. but just cause u collected all the books on shin malphur doesn’t give u the ok in a thread to tell him his life story like LMAO I HEARD THIS ABOUT U no, that’s for u the player not u the guardian to kno for lore & world building purposes. it’s not okay its godmodding.

like we joke & have a good time with the ideas of ‘ kinderguardians ‘ & we tend to forget that even in canon both jest & serious that’s p much what they are. power blind, safety blind, squishy injury prone children running around the galaxy causing issue to literally everyone. Uldren has said it, Ghaul has said it, Mara has said it, Spider has said it— i can go on & on. but idk about you but when i play i die constantly, i get shot, stabbed, i fall making jumps, i fuck up constantly & yet those are seen as things that aren’t okay for RP but being an all knowing super powerful ultra mega awesome cayde-witty child is okay. no that should be the reverse.

look im tired of dropping threads b/c the theme of the day is ‘lets have 0 respect for this character with a royal title b/c haha im cool & i hate this character’ or ‘ghaul aint shit we kick his ass even tho this thread takes place before d2′ or whatever the whole sassy, op guardian shlock is getting very old. it’s annoying when guardian a decides to tell my muse his life story as if they are bff when realistically the only way for said guardian to kno that is if they were there with my muse.

you have to trust us non-guardian rpers to not do this to you, to not wave our muses own advantages over you. ive said time & time again i do water down Uldren for you guys so u have someone to talk & thread with or else i wouldn’t be able to rp w/ any of you. but on the flip side recently it seems that courtesy is not given back to any of us & it’s a big damn mood killer.

You’re right, Mara. I have no idea what it’s like to be a Queen. My society is governed by a Consensus. Our leaders don’t have the luxury of making selfish decisions without consequence because they’d just lose their job. We don’t worry about a single ruler making irrevocable decisions that are shrouded in secret and result in massive loss of life. Raising your voice to my Ghost in response to legitimate criticism indicates that criticism isn’t something you’re used to–which in my humble opinion, is not healthy for an immortal monarch.
