Thanks for the ask and sorry for the late reply 😅

I think I started to like them, the moment I layed eyes onto them during the Sabaody Arc and really firstly because of their unique designs :’)

The way they’re all looking so punky and wild made my (then teenage) heart scream in joy. Especially Kid’s attitude and delinquent self. Since I was (and still am) very weak for punks, hard rock/metal guys and delinquents, it was no big surprise for (or the people around) me that I felt more drawn towards the Kid Pirates and not towards Law and his crew (who turned to be everybody’s darling real fast 😂). Gosh I can still remember the funny discussions with fellow fans why I was crushing hard on Kid and not Law 😂

Also I really like, how they’re not 100% good guys but are a bunch of gremlins and that their captain is … yes, how he is (the dynamic between him and Killer is also amazing!)

I fell out of my love for them a bit for a while tho. What brought me back was Killer and how much he cared for his captain and crew (and of course all the great fan works who fed my headcanons about the crew, so thanks fellow creators, I appreciate and love you very much ♥️)

Oh and have a messy sketchy drawing about my first encounter with them 😂 Lil‘ ol‘ me was very happy. The boys? Not so much, I guess. Haha 😂😅

This artwork was challenging. Especially for a practice piece..! (Like really? THIS background???)

I tried out the shading technique I used to do while drawing traditionally in my sketchbook instead of the simple shading and colouring I did out of laziness (and lack of fitting brushes). It wasn’t easy (and gosh, it took so long!) but I’m really happy about the result. I am slowly starting to understand digital art/drawing. Which is pretty cool! 🤩

Dreamy naga Killer watching the sunset 🌅

Hehe, yeah I tried. Still not used to draw digital and I definitely want to practice more (especially background and colouring…I want to shade my artworks like my traditional ones one day…current shading looks so simple and unusual to me 😅). But it looks ok for a practice piece and I’m happy of the result, given I’m still struggling with brushes and co.

Got a tablet and currently trying some things and functions out 😅 Digital drawing is so difficult for me, who is used to paper and colour pencils. I still need to learn a lot. Only good thing is how fast you can color the lines and the undone button 😂 now I need to learn how to properly shade the artwork like I’m used to do it. Wish me luck ✌️

Practice subject is of course Naga Killer 😏🤙 hopefully I can finish him soon!

Oh thank you for asking, that’s so sweet of you! 😭❤️ I’m so sorry for worrying you, I’ve got a huge load of work the last few months so I’m feeling like a permanently exhausted pidgeon 🥲 kinda sucks to have no energy to draw after work, but I managed to sketch a bit during breaks (sadly no coloured artworks, so I wasn’t sure, if I should upload them here or if anyone even wants to see them 😅)

Also I’m currently lacking a bit of ideas, so even with a bit more time and energy, I just don’t know what to draw (ideas are always welcome or asks, I love to get inspired by conversations)

But thanks again for hitting me up, this warms my heart knowing I’m not forgotten and at least one person is thinking of me 😭❤️ sending you a lot of hugs!! ❤️

While rereading @sir-crocodile-smile Heat naga fanfic “Safe and Warm” I got so inspired by one of the soft scenes, that I couldn’t help to draw that little idea out :’) Seeing Heat being soft to someone hurt and scared and cradle them in his arms sparked my inspiration. I have nothing but love for this sweet monster noodle.

And who doesn’t want to be sheltered by enormous warm wings during a cold rain?

Ahahaha this is amazing! :‘D They would totally do these kind of stuff to troll the poor fuzzy boy :‘D Kei-Kei would probably give them the silent treatment + stink eye of doom for it. Not that it would stop Wire or Heat tho… >:D
