"One iced americano please" the woman in front of you ordered as her gaze went down on her phone, unbothered about the people who started lining up behind her.
"The name?" you asked and it came off a little rudely than you intended to. The woman stared up from her phone, her eyebrows furrowed together as she gave you a confused gaze.
"Aisha," she said and you nodded.
"You can take a seat, I'll call your name when your americano is finished" you explained to her since you had a feeling that she didn't clearly understand the scheme of this Café. She just nodded as her gaze fell down on her phone again. You sighed, turning around as you went up to the counter where Jungkook was standing
"One iced americano" you kind of mocked the lady who ordered the coffee. Jungkook chuckled as he nodded, taking a cup to prepare the coffee.
"Someone's in a good mood today," he said jokingly, as he focused on filling the portafilter with espresso grounds. He bit his lip softly as he tamping the grounds, making sure to not use too much pressure. Sometimes he was too focused on his work that he forgets to listen to you.
"I wouldn't have applied to this part-time job if I had known that I have to serve people who are not even looking into my eyes while ordering something" you massaged your neck slowly, shutting your eyes as you felt the pain increasing.
"Well wasn't it you who whined about not having enough money for herself. You should thank me for having this job" he looked up as he smiled, focusing on his own job again.
There he was absolutely right.
Just recently you've lost your job as an intern and you had struggled to find a new job in order to pay your rent. Luckily, your best friend's father is the owner of a Café. He helped you sneaking you in as a part-timer in order for you to make a living until you find a new job.
"Excuse me!" someone yelled from behind you and you sighed again, "Hurry" you demanded, turning around to the next customer who ordered a coffee-to-go.
"Taehyung!" you called out for your coworker, feeling yourself getting nervous as the line was getting longer. Taehyung turned around from his place. He was standing next to a table of senior high-school girls who were drinking coffee. He sighed and walked up to you behind the counter.
"Stop flirting with high-schoolers and help me out," you said which he returned with a smile.
"I wasn't flirting" he then started pouting. You ignored his pout and turned around to take the americano which Jungkook had prepared.
"Iced americano for Aisha!" you called out for the girl with the phone in her hand and she approached you. After giving you the money, she left without even thanking you.
The rest of the day was just as stressful and hard just like the other days in which you work here. After the last customer left you were starting to clean up the Café. Jungkook was cleaning his place and you just finished cleaning the counters.
As you started to wipe the floor you noticed Taehyung sitting on a chair, his eyes glued on the phone in his hands. He was constantly swiping left with his thumb, sighing as he leaned his head on his other hand.
"Yah, you should help us cleaning!" you threw a towel at him, making him flinch at the sudden movement. You walked up to him and stared at his phone from behind his shoulders.
"Seriously, you're on tinder while your friends have to clean all that mess up?" you hit him on the back of his head.
"I've haven't had a girlfriend for four years now. I feel lonely at home" he whined, pushing your arm away.
"Jungkook!" you called out, getting a 'what' from behind the counter, "Let's sign a petition that Taehyung should get paid less than me! It's unfair that I do most of the work here" you shouted which Jungkook returned with a soft chuckle. For Jungkook it was a day like any other where you and Taehyung would fight like babies but still keep resembling each other.
"Oh wait!" you exclaimed, leaning into the screen, "She's pretty, swipe right," you said.
"I'm not into older girls. I'm not Jungkook" he laughed as he swiped left on her.
"Yah! I can hear you!" Jungkook called out from behind the counter, making you chuckle.
"I think an older girl would definitely help you to grow up" you admitted as you turned around to keep wiping the floor. Taehyung sighed at your statement, still keeping on with the swiping.
"Oh god!" he suddenly yelled, making you wince at his deep voice for scaring the shit out of you.
"Ahh," he started laughing at you, his finger pointing at you.
"Okay but your description fits perfectly" Taehyung put his hand under his chin as he bit his lip in attend to think about something.
"What's wrong, eh?" you called out, getting cut off by him instantly.
"I mean it's not wrong to have a dating app. I use it too but I would never think of you having a dating app-" he said and you furrowed your eyebrows at his statement.
"What's wrong with- wait, what?" you stomped up at him, grabbing his phone out of his hands as you looked at the screen in shock. There was a picture of you, your name and your age on that dating app.
"But I never-" Your mouth dropped wide open as you tried to think about who could've faked your profile, "That's a fake account" you exclaimed pointing at the phone which made Taehyung chuckled loudly.
"Y/N, it's nothing to be ashamed of. Don't worry" he tried to give you a better feeling but failing miserably. Getting interrupted by your loud shriek, he backed away slowly.
"Who the fuck faked my profile?! Swipe right and ask them! I wanna know who that is!" you pointed at the screen, eyes focusing on the picture of you on that dating app.
"Yah, if you want to date me, you can simply ask me-" without him even finishing his jokingly words, you swiped right and waited in the hope to be able to text that person.
"You can shut the hell up, that's not me and why can't I text this person?!" you asked and he sighed, grabbing his phone away from your grip.
"It's because you have to match with someone in order to text them. That person has to swipe right on me too," he admitted, staring at you with a monotonous stare. You rolled your eyes, annoyed by him as you stomped away angrily.
"What's wrong?" Jungkook asked, still focused on cleaning the coffee machine.
"Someone created a fake tinder account of me" you gasped, your voice coming out raucously. Jungkook's eyes widened as he stopped his actions, turning towards you. His cheeks turned slightly red and the way he stared at you confused you.
"Who would do that?" he said in a small panicky voice, staring everywhere but not at you while he spoke. You furrowed your eyebrows.
"Right? That has to be a joke and I really hope for that person to be safe. If I find out that person was no longer the right to live on" you gritted your teeth, helping him with the last touch-ups.
"But I mean what's bad about it?-" he muttered, trying to sound as stable as he can while you cut him off.
"What do you mean? Someone is using my face without my permission" you hissed, turning away to clean the other half of the counter.
"Just for clarification reasons. Let's assume it was me who created a fake account, what would you do?" he asked carefully, stepping back a little. Right then it 'clicked'. Turning around slowly, you started smiling while stepping closer.
"You remember the boy in high-school who made fun of me?" you asked, the smile not leaving your face as you stepped closer.
"You mean Jiwon? The one whom you nearly broke their arm?" he asked, stuttering half of his words and you nodded.
"This time I'll really break an arm though," you said with simple directness, running up at him as you started screaming his name loudly. He escaped from your grip and ran away from the counter. As soon as he saw Taehyung he jumped up at him and hid behind his back.
Taehyung was confused, "Guys calm down-" he couldn't even finish his words when you pushed him and jumped on Jungkooks back, grabbing his hair harshly. You weren't able to pull since he was much stronger than you. His arm surrounds your waist and turned you around. You fell on the floor, a hiss escaping your lips as Jungkook muttered an apology. Just as you wanted to stand up and hit him, you were taken back by Taehyung, who grabbed your upper arms from your back, holding you tight so you won't be able to move an inch.
"Let go, I'll kill him!" you shouted, fidgeting around in his grip. He just chuckled from behind your back.
"You know you can't escape, just stay here and calm down" once he felt that you calmed down, he let go. You pushed him away, glaring at Jungkook who was giving you a cautioned stare.
"What's going on?" Taehyung asked, switching stares from Jungkook to you.
"That guy is the culprit" you pointed at Jungkook angrily, "He created the fake account," you said, furrowing your eyebrows at him. Taehyung eyes widened as he again switched his gaze between you and Jungkook, starting laughing wholeheartedly.
"I must've known that, to be honest. You're not the type of a person who'd start searching for a partner after you got disappointed so much with them" Taehyung blurted out, still laughing until he saw your angry glare at him. His facial muscles loosened and he dropped his smile, staring at the ground with a whispering 'sorry' from his lips.
"What was the reason for you to create that account Jungkook? Seriously, behind my back?" you asked a little calmer than before. He shrugged his shoulders.
"Y/N, you deserve to be happy too. When was the last time you had a boyfriend or girlfriend? You should go out, meet people and eventually start something. I can't let my best friend die alone" his words literally stabbed a hole into your heart. It made you sad that he never saw the signs of you actually liking him more than just a friend. You've been developing this feeling since you started working together with him.
He was being so sweet to customers and so dedicated to his work. Plus, you've been literally seeing him day and night since you were also neighbors since childhood. You've been living alone and he was still with his parents, helping with the coffee shop which they've opened a few years ago.
Your parents were outside of Seoul and made sure to visit you from time to time. With the part-time job and them sending you money over time you were able to start living alone. Until you find another job you knew that you could rely on your parents. Also, you never felt alone since Jungkooks family was always there for you, giving you the warm feeling of a family household so you never felt alone. After they decided to leave for Seoul you had insisted on coming to Seoul with them since you knew you had greater chances in a big city. Of course, life was hard and expensive but until now you never regret your decision in accompanying the Jeon family to Seoul.
Focusing on work and a stable career made you forgot about your personal life and of course, the love life included but since you've started working with Jungkook you started getting this tingling feeling in your stomach whenever he touched your hair or hands jokingly. You've found yourself being lost in his eyes whenever he started talking about something he was excited about. Of course, you've seen him with many girls since then and you didn't mind. Maybe it wasn't the right time for both of you or maybe it was just a deep crush since you've been seeing no guy than Jungkook more than 24 hours a day. Him not seeing the way you look at him and rather starting to search for a significant other for you was heartbreaking. Maybe you should start working on not minding these feelings, maybe they're just illusion or maybe you feel like that towards since he's literally the only guy in your life whom you spend your time with constantly.
"Still, my love life is none of your business Jungkook. I'm off" you mumbled, opening your apron and putting it on the desk as you walked away from Jungkook and Taehyung with a sad expression on your face.
"Y/N!-" Jungkook called out for you but you already grabbed your coat and headed off. It was a cold autumn day and you walked through the dark alleys into the direction of your small apartment. The leaves started falling or flying on the ground due to the wind. You felt your eyes getting teary and blamed it on the rough wind that was touching your skin. Pressing the coat tighter against your body, eyes focused on your feet as you were trying to stop the aching in your heart.
It's true that's it's been a long time since you last had a relationship but you never really searched for it. Rather you waited for it to happen all of a sudden. You were focused on your part-time job and since you've lost your job as an intern you decided to get your life together before starting anything serious even if that person had to be Jungkook. You were willing to wait until your life started getting better again.
Pressing the code of your lock you entered your small apartment. Closing the door behind yourself as you were throwing your coat on the hanger and letting yourself fall into your bed. It wasn't taking long and you felt your eyes getting heavier. Just as you wanted to shut them you heard your door unlocking and someone entering the apartment. Jungkook. He was the only one who knew your password.
"Ugh" you grabbed the pillow next to yourself as you pressed it into our face, regretting changing the password beforehand.
"Y/N" you heard his voice coming from the living room, probably spotting the nightstand in your room and you heard his steps getting louder and louder.
"Leave me alone" you mumbled through the pillow that was still on your head. Suddenly you felt a tight grip on the pillow and before you could react he already pulled it away, only to hit your face with it one time and then pulling it into his chest, hugging it tightly.
"I'm sorry, I should've told you before creating an account for you" he mumbled and one thing Jungkook disliked was apologizing. Making a mistake and having to apologize for it, for that he had to step on his pride but it wasn't like that with you though. He knew you'd forgive him for anything he does and he relied on that.
"Get the fuck out of my room" you glared at him for a brief second before turning your back to him.
"Y/N don't be childish. I really had no bad intentions. I just want my best friend to find love and happiness-" you cut him off loudly.
"That works without having to commit me to someone." you said with simple directness.
"Okay, the truth is. I've been talking to this girl for a quite long while now and I feel so much happiness these days. Thinking that you've never been in a serious relationship breaks my heart and from the bottom of my heart I want my best friend to feel the beauty of loving, liking and crushing on someone" he stared down at his fingers, playing softly with them.
Your heart broke into pieces when he started talking. You didn't know why but it ached and the pain grew the more he talked. He never noticed your behaviors or maybe it was just normal to him. In fact, he probably was too focused on that girl that he never really noticed you. You had no chance but to move on and start focusing on yourself and other people around you.
"I really want to go on double dates with you-" he chuckled and you rolled your eyes at his obliviousness, turning around fast as you locked your eyes with his.
"Alright, I'm in!" you said in a serious voice, looking directly into his soul. You couldn't take him talking about other girls anymore. It hurt you too much. Maybe it really was just a deep crush that you had to move on from.
"What?" his mouth dropped wide open. He expected you fighting him, arguing with him or even throwing him out of your apartment but he surely didn't expect this.
"I'll go on these stupid dates but if they won't work out you have to promise me to never annoy me with these stupid relationships or interfering into my love life, promise?" you furrowed your eyebrows, holding out your pinky finger.
He showed you his bunny smile which your heart made a slight jump at as he pulled out his pinky finger and intertwined it with yours.
