gaza has just been completely cut off from the world.

after increased intensity of israeli aistrikes tonight, the last cable providing communications was destroyed. telecommunications have been completely cut off. they cannot reach one another. they cannot reach paramedics. the red crescent society has completely lost contact with their branch in gaza. nobody inside can reach anyone inside, and especially not outside of gaza to tell us what is going on. this is a complete atrocity.

al jazeera has managed to maintain infrequent communication with their journalists in gaza. from their reporter wael dahdouh: “we are not fine. body parts are everywhere, missiles are targeting everyone, and the bombing hasn’t stopped for a second.”

do not stop talking about gaza. they are trying to commit genocide in the dark. do not stop talking.

nan je déconne… quand même, je me dis que personne peut avoir l’idée de mettre en scène la crise sociale sans précédent de notre pays et en plus d’ouvrir la possibilité de jouer les forces de l’ordre alors qu’ils ont tué un jeune arabe y a un mois et sont en train de défendre nationalement le droit à un statut juridique spécial après avoir laissé pour mort un autre jeune… 

je veux dire, personne ne pourrait être à ce point oblivious du glissement fasciste de notre société et du racisme et de l’acharnement du gouvernement et du pays contre les minorités pour en plus mettre en scène les populations précarisées sous l’unique étendard de “banlieues” sans distinction pour les spécificités socio-économiques des dites banlieues ? 

imaginez le forum met en avant comme inspiration “La Haine” et “Athéna” comme si les inégalités et les violences qui en découlent étaient une oeuvre de fiction et pas la réalité dans laquelle on vit.

France conducted its first nuclear test known as the "Gerboise Bleue" in February 1960 in the Sahara Desert - an atomic bomb that was four times the strength of Hiroshima. A total of 17 tests were carried out, four of them atmospheric detonations, and 13 underground.

Nuclear testing continued in the region until 1966, four years after the independence of Algeria from French colonial rule, due to a clause in the Evian Accords which were signed by the Provisional Government of the Algerian Republic (GPRA). The accords established the parameters for Algerian independence. The defeated colonial power demanded to be able to continue to destroy Algeria's environment and poison its people.

At the time of the tests, around 40,000 people lived in the affected area, and the tests had a horrific effect on these communities. Many were impacted directly, while others were poisoned over time due to the radiation. In fact, 60 years after Gerboise Bleue, babies are still being born with illnesses and malformations.

A man was killed during the protests.

27 years old Mohammed B. He wasn’t even protesting he was talking pictures and filming the police. A cop saw him filming and shot him with flash-ball (French weapon used by the police similar to beanbags and rubber bullets) it made his heart stop and he died.

15 days ago on June 14th a 19 years old black man (Guinean) named Alhoussein Camara was killed by the police in circumstances extremely similar to Nahel. Except it wasn’t filmed, which is the reason why very few people talked about it according to his friends. Very conveniently the body cam (equivalent) of the cop who killed him was not on when it happened so there’s only the version of the police which is a huge lie as usual.

To all the people who try to justify police brutality, to all the people who will come here and say or think “but they are burning/breaking everything” I will say it now. Fuck you and I hope you will suffer in the after life as much as you make us suffer in this one.

French people raised half a million. Half a fucking million for the family of the cop who murdered Nahel Merzouk, an Algerian boy.

Well we don’t know the value of an Algerian life in France but we sure now know the reward for killing one.

To all the French people who say France is not racist fuck you. To all the Europeans who pretend to be so much better than the US a huge fuck you. To all the people getting a hard on over France fuck you. To all the people who even think about mentioning how destroying public property is bad fuck you. Fuck everyone who is not revolted by what happened.

For the record during the Yellow Vests protests in 2019 a protester was caught breaking stuff. A fundraiser was made for him and his family, the government quickly put an end to it and there was even an official announcement during a press conference saying that people who were donating were irresponsible and that they were encouraging violence.

So the statement is not just from the people donating. It’s also from the government who refuse to put an end to the fundraiser.

C’est décourageant de voir à quel point certain.e.s (beaucoup) ont pris les discussions sur l’accessibilité comme une mode plutôt qu’une nécessité pour l’inclusion.

L’effet “wouaw” est passé, et on se retrouve de nouveau à voir trop de forums ouvrir avec du texte en 12px ou moins, des forums étroits, des encadrés d’une hauteur minuscule pour un scroll de 10km, pas de majuscules (??) jusque dans les sujets administratifs, pas d’option dark/light mode, etc — Et à défaut, les modules d’accessibilité ne sont même plus installés pour compenser l’ensemble et permettre, bah, euh, d’être accessible ? 

C’est pourtant facile à prendre en compte, sur les points cités au-dessus il s’agit vraiment d’une base de départ pour être lisible et ça ne demande pas de compétence en codage. Même installer un dark/light mode ou un module, c’est aussi simple à suivre que les tutos pour une PA ou un QEEL en libre service. Et ça ferait déjà une énorme différence !
