[tired knock at his door] "Ferg...? Are ya home?" ~Ivy

Avatar

It took a few minutes, but Fergus finally managed to get up and open the door. Ah. Ivy. His smile, however slight, was still a warm one.

He opened the door and gestured for her to enter. “ ‘s cold outside,” he mumbled.

“Thanks,” Slipping in, Ivy managed a small smile in return. She brushed back her messily done hair, pausing and mentally cursing when she realized she’d forgotten to do her braid. “‘Cold’ is about the only thing December’s good for.”

Ferg nodded gently. “Got that right,” came the quiet reply.

He closed the door behind her and slowly, but surely, made his way into the kitchen. He quietly drummed his fingers on the countertop. It was the only day of the year he didn’t have anything to say- and by the looks of it, Ivy wasn’t too keen on talking either.

But that was ok. They didn’t need to talk today.

Ivy gave him a half smile, leaning against the wall. She stood there quietly for a second, talking only when the silence started to feel like it was being drawn out.

"Sorry fer just comin' by without warnin'. Didn' really feel like bein' alone."

dude, mun, i honestly thought the rcrp community died?? how-?

((Nah it's fine bro. A lot of us went through total blog remakes, so if some of us have mysteriously vanished you probably never saw the notice about the mun making a new one (or leaving, because a couple have). I think Ivy's the only one left using the original blog so just do a quick check to make sure you're not looking for one that's been labelled archive. You can also use @rcrp-canadians if you want.

Today is the 100th anniversary of an event that dramatically affected the people and the city of the place I have lovingly and thankfully called home since 1976: Halifax, Nova Scotia (Canada). What occurred was a devastating man-made explosion—the largest prior to Hiroshima and Nagasaki—that decimated a city and its people. The blast occurred at 9:04 in the morning, the effect of which can still be seen to this day on the town clock at City Hall. At that moment, 100 years earlier, the shockwaves from the explosion disabled the clock and froze forever the time of the occurrence of the mass devastation.

Halifax Public Gardens 1

Beautifully maintained gardens in the middle of Halifax. Not extremely large but very well maintained and free to the public!

Canada is celebrating its 150 years anniversary this year and these two flower bed were commemorating that.

There are three model boats in the pond… This amused me FAR more than it should have…
