since tumblr is going to start scraping blogs to train ai be sure to glaze and nightshade your art!! Not only will both of these programs protect your art from being copied but nightshade also poisons any ai that tries to steal it

They are already selling data to midjourney, and it's very likely your work is already being used to train their models because you have to OPT OUT of this, not opt in. Very scummy of them to roll this out unannounced.
here's some instructions for anyone who doesn't know how to opt out:
- login in on desktop, it's not available on mobile yet
- click "Account"
- click on your blog
- go to "Blog Settings"
- go to "Visibility"
- Scroll down to the bottom option
- turn the toggle ON, not off
you will have to do this individually for each sideblog you have too, no way to do it for each account in one go

"Last year, the "mature" and "sexual themes" community labels were erroneously applied to some users' posts. An outside team of contractors tasked with applying community labels to posts were responsible for this larger trend of mislabeling trans-related content. When our Trust & Safety team discovered this issue (thanks largely to reports from the community), we removed the contracted team’s ability to apply community labels and added more oversight to ensure it does not happen again. In the Staff post about this, LGBTQ+ staff pushed to be more transparent but were overruled by leadership. The termination of a contractor mentioned in the original ask response was for an unrelated incident which was incorrectly attributed to this case. We regret that the mislabeling ever happened, and the negative impact it has had on the trans community on Tumblr."
trans tumblr staff post essentially being like we saw that trans women were being targeted for being marked as sexually explicit and we tried to get this stopped but were over-ruled by the larger tumblr staff. Finally confirming that infact yes the people running tumblr are transphobes and did this on purpose or at very least didn't care enough about trans people on "the queerest website on the internet" being targetted by their system to do anything. That contractor was not removed because they were being openly and knowingly transphobic they just happened to get removed for a completely unrelated incident. Tumblr knew and did not care about the transphobia part.
