It’s finally time! The prizes have arrived and I’m ready to start the 2015 Petticoats for Philanthropy charity event benefiting the Make-A-Wish Foundation!
Make-A-Wish is a charity that has always been close to my heart. When I was doing my college program at Walt Disney World I met countless children having the time of their lives with their families thanks to Make-A-Wish. One little girl in particular stands out to me, a ten-year-old girl who was in remission. When I complimented her cute pixie cut she told me that her hair was just growing back but she was thinking about leaving it short and I told her it was a great idea. She was looking at the Glow toys I was selling and decided that she wanted the most simple and inexpensive toy on the cart, a small wand that lit up and blinked in different colors which I gave her as a free gift. It was such a small thing but her face lit up and she was so thankful. When I asked her who her favorite character was she said it was Elsa and that she had an Elsa dress that she decided not to wear that day because she wanted to wear her Make-A-Wish shirt with her family. I told her that if she had been wearing her Elsa dress maybe she could have used her ice powers to cool down the hot day and she promised me that the next time she wore it she would practice for her next visit. Making kids like her smile was one my favorite things about working at Disney and made me even more enthusiastic to raise money for Make-A-Wish. On average, Make-A-Wish grants the wish of a child diagnosed with a life-threatening illness every 38 minutes in the United States and I want to help as much as possible to make sure even more children can have their wishes come true.
How can I help?
Visit wish.org and donate any amount of money $5 (USD) and over. For every $5 donated you will be entered into a drawing for one of the prizes above. Just follow these steps!
- Make a donation to Make-A-Wish. You can donate as much as you want but donations must start at $5 USD (as set by the charity’s donation feature.) You can donate on a local, national, or international level. That doesn’t matter to me as long as you’re making a donation.
- A few minutes after finishing your donation you will get an email from Make-A-Wish with the subject line “Thank you for supporting Make-A-Wish!” (It may show up in your junk or spam.) That email includes your receipt. The only personal information in this email is your name and the amount you donated. Forward this email to lolita.tips.tumblr@gmail.com. In the forwarded message include your name, your tumblr URL if you have one, and the prize set you’re interested in. Every $5 you donate is worth one entry for the prize of your choice. If you donate more than $5 you can get an entry for one prize multiple times or you can enter for as many of the prizes as you wish.
- When I get your email I will send you a reply with an entry number.
- At the end of the donation period the entry numbers will be put into a random number generator to get the winners.

Disclaimers and stuff
This is a game of chance. There will be one winner for each prize set and the winners will be chosen by random.org. This event has nothing to do with tumblr and will not technically be held on tumblr, it will all happen via email. Reblogging, liking, and following will not increase your chances of winning the game and you do not require a tumblr account to participate.
Special thanks to…
- FanPlusFriend
- Sweet Mildred
- Eat Me Ink Me
- necessary-glitter
- princess-jessiekate
- supersonic-fairy-princess
