Since SL is ending, do u have a favorite outfit you wished you could have draw more of it? Can be any character.
You unlocked something in me cuz I went digging for these:
I drew this super cute coat-dress for Rose and then only got to show the back of it?! And I looooved this fall look on Alya so much I tried to use it again in "Puppeteer" but barely got use out of it there either. And I deliberately referenced my favorite Akane Tendo from Ranma 1/2 look with Mylene...and then only showed her tiny 😭😭
This blink-and-you'll-miss-it look for Alix was so layered and so what I think I'd put Alix in as her permanent outfit if I was designing her for the show. Same for this adorable oversized fit for Ondine, she needs an "out of the water" look. As for Chloe and Sabrina, I felt like these both really reflected them well so it's too bad I only got two pages out of them.
I actually DID get a lot of real-estate out of this Alya look, I just liked it so much I want to see it more. And this Nino doesn't blow my mind but I drew him so cute in my sketchbook quick sketch that I want to bring the look back just to recapture the magic. And this long skirt on Nadja made her look kinda hot, I waited to late to start messing with the adults.
I just really liked the few times I got to draw Juleka in this look, I wonder if it's actually the hair that I liked most. And poor Marc, I drew them in this "is it a shirt? is it a dress?" look but you never see below their waist! And I killed it with these three, you can tell that I just really like the outfits I made for Alya, Kagami doesn't get to wear casual clothes enough, and Nino isn't super fashionable, but when I nail it for him I NAIL it!
I like making the rich kids casual. (Also I fully admit that there's just something about showing off guys collarbones for me, idk what it is). I especially like this Chloe look because it's inspired by fellow creator @mikoriin's artwork of her! Ivan is hard to get excited about because I feel like part of his visual design is that he's NOT fashionable (I mean he's wearing two different shades of black, the nightmare) so when I can trick him into looking good, I like it 💖And I like most of the looks I give Lila, wanting to see her outfit more is just me wanting to write her more.
Last but not least, the Hero fits from the kids. If you add in Alya dressed as Fox Trot, the Cesaires cover the Main 4 of SL (pre Ladybug) lol. It's a shame that they couldn't show off their hero worship more.

Juleka has some knowlage via Luka? Do tell? Is juleka a changling as well? Or some sort of runaway fae?
when Anarka was pregnant, she made a deal with a river fae to determine the gender of her child. She was presented with two blooms, one red and one white, and whichever she ate would result in the gender of her choice.
Being Anarka, she ultimately ate both, and ended up with twins.
she ate the white flower first, so Juleka is a normal human child (as far as she and anyone else knows for the time being) but Luka, her twin, is sort of magical. Kind of a Lindworm boy. Since Anarka ate both blooms instead of one, the fae of the river tried to steal Juleka as payment for deception, but Luka beat him in a musical contest and Juleka got to stay with her family.
as a result, due to his strange situation, Luka is not only aware of the whole "other magical people" thing, but is kind of one of them. Him and Juleka try to steer clear of them when they can, but now Juleka is in a class with a changeling ooooppsssss

What I love (see: hate) about ppl blaming maribug for adrichat’s problems is how they all seem to abide by the idea that girls are innately responsible for their male peers
And even if they’re tackling it from the “abused person needs help” angle I’m still very ??? because maribug isn’t in a position where she can actually do anything about it beyond offer some emotional support so like. Wtf do u expect a teenager to do to free another teenager? Murder? U got the wrong genre, buddy.
I don't think I've mentioned this in any of my "Marinette Deserves Better" posts, but the above is another big element of why I hate the season four "conflict." It plays heavily into gender stereotypes even though, when you step back and look at what the heroes are actually going through, Ladybug is absolutely the one who needs support here, not Chat Noir. Support Chat Noir never really offers. To show this, I will once again remind you of their first interaction at the start of season four:
Ladybug: Will you cut it out with the practical jokes? I could have really hurt you! Cat Noir:(answering while hanging by the yo-yo) M'lady, the only thing that really hurts me is when you make me go on patrol by myself. (sighs, relaxing his posture) I even missed your little angry pout. Ladybug: Sorry, Kitty Cat, I'm a bit over my head at the moment. (pulling him up) Cat Noir: I bet! "Guardian of the Miraculous", big name, big responsibility! Ladybug:(helping him up) I promise, I won't ever forget our patrols again. (Cat Noir winks at her, both head to defeat the villain) Cat Noir: Woohoo!
Where is the "you and me against the world" line? Why is he acting like this? How did the season that started right after Marinette lost her mentor and gained a major responsibility somehow have a driving "conflict" about Chat Noir feeling like he wasn't getting enough attention? None of this makes a lick of sense. This is not how you write a strong romantic lead.
Yes, he has a messed up home life, but Marinette doesn't know that. No one knows that because Adrichat doesn't tell anyone, so how do you expect anyone to account for that in their interactions with him? Once again, if there's a character who needed to learn a lesson this season, it was Chat Noir, not Ladybug. He also needed a motivation beyond "date Ladybug," but that ship sailed back in season one.
(To save myself from another ask defending Adrien, I want to be clear that this is - as always - a writing issue. The show is not treating it as a serious character flaw for Adrien, so it's hard to call it one in the traditional sense where it's informing the story and all that fun stuff from my recent "character core" post. I'd even go so far as to say this problem is flipped next season where we start the season with Chat Noir condemning his father to a slow and painful death, but the focus of the season is somehow Marinette being able to say, "I love you.")

So the cops would pull over some sorry black person, and get ready to rough him up, but then there were the Panthers right behind them. Watching, armed to the teeth, and citing legal statutes. It’s inspirational.

That among other community initiatives. They had weapons training, self defense, their free breakfast program and ran a newspaper. They raised money to pay for bail and legal funding for people. And they used to notify the community of their rights and encourage people to know the laws and protest the one which were unjust. That type of shit irked the local police and damned sure struck a nerve with the FBI. They were taking back the streets and providing the protection the police were never interested in bringing to their neighborhoods from the very start. So it’s always fuck the FBI for me.
To be more specific they were communists distributing and teaching communist theory to their communities. Their organization also functioned and was organized by Marxism. And within that context it was Very Bad for the Black Panthers to be doing a better job of taking care of their communities than capitalists were.
For example, aside from aiming to monitor and end police brutality they also cared Deeply about their communities. So much that they also provided healthcare which included ambulances and vaccines. Black neighborhoods often had to wait Way longer for ambulances when necessary so the Black Panthers stepped up. They even had free clinics-funded by donations and ran by professionals- that provided some basic services that Black people were being underserved in.
Each local chapter was responsible for raising funds for its clinic from local businesses, churches, and healthcare professionals. Trusted volunteer professionals staffed the free clinics. These professionals included physicians, nurses, pharmacists, lab technicians, and medical students who also trained community members to staff the clinics as lab technicians, patient advocates, and community health workers.
[…]PFMCs primarily provided first aid and basic services such as childhood vaccinations and screenings for high blood pressure, lead poisoning, tuberculosis, and diabetes. Free breakfast in school?
Also the Black Panthers. They saw hungry kids who were getting bad grades and falling asleep and decided to feed them to see if it helped. It did. So much so that schools and governments started implementing it.
Free Breakfast For School Children was one of the most effective. It began in January 1969 at an Episcopal church in Oakland, and within weeks it went from feeding a handful of kids to hundreds. The program was simple: party members and volunteers went to local grocery stores to solicit donations, consulted with nutritionists on healthful breakfast options for children, and prepared and served the food free of charge.
School officials immediately reported results in kids who had free breakfast before school. “The school principal came down and told us how different the children were,” Ruth Beckford, a parishioner who helped with the program, said later. “They weren’t falling asleep in class, they weren’t crying with stomach cramps.

Not to mention everyone who does it is so insanely talented at portraying not only the vibes, but being dead on with the motion. I mean the courier in this alone has amazing core strength and rag dolls the EXACT way that bodies do in game. It’s honestly incredible.

i may just be french but do americans really not get paid summer vacations? you don't go to the beach with your kids? "There is no federal or state statutory minimum paid vacation or paid public holidays" am i reading this right? like i'm not trying to rub anyone's face in it but you're just stuck in the rat race year-round until you're old and that's normal and accepted??? in the 21st century???
