My Top 4 Albums of 2021

So I usually always post my top-5 but since not much came out this year (for me) I decided to do my top-4, along with a band I got into this year.

1) SUCKAPUNCH - You Me at Six.

I really love this album; every song is so catchy and amazing for a sing-along. When they released What’s it like? I was so so excited for a full album and they really didn’t disappoint. Josh sounds fantastic on this album, and there’s an amazing title track which is one of my favourite things when it comes to albums. I saw them live in September and they played quite a few songs from this album (8!!) which made it so so much better.

2) Dear Monsters - Bad Wolves

I really like this album; I’ve been listening to this band since their cover of Zombie (2018) and this album is just fantastic. I really like the vocalist - no I’m not gonna address the “drama” - and I still really love this band, whatever happened doesn’t suddenly make their music bad and this album just talks for itself.

Favourite Songs: Never Be the Same; Lifeline; Wildfire; Gone; If Tomorrow Never Comes; House of Cards; In the Middle.

3) Fallen Empires - ILLENIUM

This just in, I still love ILLENIUM.  As always, this album is such a BOP! All of the singers that feature sound amazing, I’ve been needing a full album since Nightlight was released and this is just so perfect, I love it.

Favourite Songs: Heavenly Side; Fragments; Sideways; U & Me; Nightlight; Hearts on Fire; Losing Patience.

4) Bodies - AFI

This album is super good, it really reminds me of their older music (i.e The Art of Drowning; Black Sails in the Sunset) so I feel like anyone who loves that style will really enjoy this album, it was definitely more for me than their previous album. There are a few bass-heavy songs that I really love, and I already appreciated Hunter a lot before this so this was really a big cherry on the cake.

Favourite Songs: Twisted Tongues; Far Too Near; Dulcería; Escape from Los Angeles; Begging for Trouble; Back from the Flesh; Looking Tragic.

Like a Storm

I actually first heard Love the Way You Hate Me in November last year but didn’t really listen to them until March this year. Their music is so catchy and I really love how they incorporate the didgeridoo into their songs, I never thought of something like that or how it could work in rock the way they make it do. It’s genius and they’re amazing.
