Wage gap is a terribly huge issue, but i dont think this scenario has anything to do with it

The Women’s NBA(WNBA) earns a substantially less amount than the NBA

Where the WNBA made a $60 million in the 2019 season, the NBA made $8.76 billion

Since there is a revenue gap due to the drastically smaller audience for the WNBA, there is a clear domino onto their salary

And, since NBA, and the WNBA are separate associations, the concept of wage gap doesnt apply in this case, because they arent working under the same association, but different ones, where the revenue isnt shared

Gendered wage gap is an actual issue that women are faced with, but it would be incorrect to call this case one of them

But, just because this doesnt come under wage gap, doesnt mean it isnt a massive issue, and the viable solution would be to raise popularity of the WNBA and get their revenue as high, if not more than the NBA

I will conclude by saying that i am not at all a sportsperson at all (the last game i watched was back in 2011 cricket world cup, and never watched a basketball game) so please do correct me if im wrong, i’d love to learn more
