Let us begin.

On a faraway world, Captain Sophie Green is recovering from a war that ripped her planet apart and left her personal relationships for dead. Among the many atrocities committed on both sides was the invention of Pasithea Powder, a drug with memory altering properties. Thankfully, the drug has been eradicated and only a handful of scientists—now political prisoners—know how to recreate it. When Sophie sees one of those scientists walking free, she has no choice but to turn to an estranged friend for help...

What?

Epistolary thrills. Alien chills. Identity porn. Mind control. Plucky reporters. Love triangles gone wrong. The evils of capitalism. Fake news. World War I. Our own high school trauma.

I saw this question posed on tiktok, but I think Tumblr would really enjoy it too.

If a fae creature offered to give one million dollars for a bone chosen at random, how many bones would you allow them to take?

Light clarifications; The fae is not the one choosing the bones. The bone is taken at random. Each bone, no matter the size or importance, is worth a full million dollars. You must also declare the exact number first, you can't go bone-by-bone. You either say 2 or you say 10, you can't work your way up to a higher number. The bones are removed instantaneously, and the money is given immediately as well. You will not get in government trouble for acquiring the money.

Tell me in the tags/replies how many bones you'd let the fae take. And as always, reblog for bigger sample size.

How to Make a SciFi Audio Drama

  1. Make an unappreciated and under-funded woman
  2. Drop her in the ocean

what fiction podcasts are you all listening to these days? with penumbra ending, Magnus archives over, all caught up on midnight burger and camlan, and the countless others that have gone on indefinite hiatus. a girl can only listen to wolf 359 so many times :/

The Kingmaker Histories (who i reblogged this from) finished season 2 recently and it's fantastic! Historical fiction comedy with magic and fey-like aliens

@ethicstownpod just won an Audioverse Award for best new production (and its a personal favorite). What happens when a small town appears to be governed by ethical conundrums? You get the sad wet cat that is January Johnson

@grottopod is a liminal horror/romance podcast that has original music in each episode and is brilliantly done

@souloperatorpod is almost half way through their first season and is absolutely phenomenal. Horror with mystery elements following a town of people who have no idea how they got there or who they are and one person's quest to figure it out

@audistorium is an anthology with some of the best writing and soundscaping I've heard

@tellnotalespod has ghosts and gays, what more could you want? (It also makes me cry regularly)

@thenightpost is both spooky and comforting at the same time I adore it. It also honors the post office, which deserves to be honored. Part committing mail fraud, part unraveling a mystery at the heart of the post office, ir just kicks ass

@woebegonepod is murder and time travel and cowboys and so many wonderful things

@224bbaker is currently crowdfunding for season 2 and their first season was a hilarious mystery show that takes the best parts of Sherlock Holmes and amplifies them (and makes them even gayer)

These are just a handful of my favorite fiction podcasts! Highly recommend all of them

Another Wolf 359 enjoyer!

Some podcasts that I (also a Wolf 359 enjoyer) have been really into recently:

@pasitheapowder is a brilliant, excellently-characterized space opera full of intrigue and emotions about two women, Captain Sophie Green a war hero and Dr. Jane Gonzalez a war criminal, in the wake of a devastating space war. They used to be close friends. They aren’t anymore. But there are lots of secrets they need to uncover after the war, to prevent the next one looming on the horizon…

InCo by @itmeblog is an excellent sci-fi story in bite-sized pieces that just keeps growing. It’s about Nova, an Information Courier (or InCo, seller of secrets and information, part interstellar messenger part spy for hire) who accidentally rescues a boy who claims to be the prince of a planet that shouldn’t exist. This is the secret of a lifetime and Nova is going to figure out what it means and why it’s been hidden from the rest of the galaxy. Fast-paced in some parts and exploratory in others, and the relationships Nova develops along the way are wonderful.

Both are complete, so no need to worry about the indefinite hiatus plague!

The second image shows two buttons on corduroy lapels: left is blue-purple and sparkly with yellow loopy text reading 'sbr' with a tiny cat; right button has a simple painting of a vial of purple Something. Chapters: 1/1 Fandom: The Pasithea Powder (Podcast) Rating: Teen And Up Audiences Warnings: No Archive Warnings Apply Relationships: Jane Gonzalez/Sophie Green, Jane Gonzalez & Sophie Green & George Moreau, as usual Jane/George is a secret third thing, and Sophie/George is a secret fourth thing Characters: Sophie Green, Jane Gonzalez, George Moreau Additional Tags: AU of Episode 29: My Soul’s a Little Grief, Canon Divergence - Jane took Pasithea powder, POV Sophie Green Summary:

Moreau unwraps Sophie’s hand. Her injured finger smarts in the open air. “Rinse it,” they say, businesslike, and she obeys, running it under the faucet so the water runs light pink down the bathtub drain. “Dry,” they say, and she dries it on the towel they offer, then lets them take her wrist. “Why did you come here?”

“I thought—” It hurts to admit the hope out loud. They must know. “You were there. On Nemea. If she’s here, I had to.”

“Listen,” they say, uncomfortable, “There’s something you need to know.”

my gift for @mongreldyke for the pasithea powder gift exchange!!!!!!!!!! :D <3 <3 <3
