Anxiety attacks aren’t always hyperventilating and rocking back and forth
Anxiety attacks can take different forms, such as:
- Unpredictable bouts of rage or irritability
- Nit-pickiness (obsessive behavior, which may be a part of OCD), and even a hypersensitivity to disarray, chaos, or any sort of change
- Fast-talking, stuttering, stumbling over words
- Not talking at all
- Sitting rigid, staring into space, almost seeming “zoned out”
Understanding the way our or other’s anxiety works can help to decrease the stigma and help to calm a person faster and get them out of that state. These are just a few, but it gives an idea of the range in which attacks can come.

SUMMARY: Keith pinches his eyes shut, slamming the book down again and swiveling to face Lance. “Oh my god,” he groans, standing up and crossing the two feet between them before Lance can get out a word. He grabs Lance’s face between his hands (perhaps a bit rougher than needed, but hey, he’s always wanted to slap Lance’s stupid face) and the last thing he sees is an expression of pure surprise before he leans down and presses his lips against Lance’s.It’s a peck, and it lasts a second, and then it’s over. Keith leans back, releasing Lance’s face, and hisses, “There.”

My eyes feel like they’re glued shut, and I press my face further into the pillow, wishing for a quick end just to make this headache go away. What the hell did I do? I stretch out, and instead of my hand hitting empty space in the bed next to me, it smacks harshly against bare skin.
“Ow! What the hell?!” Dean’s deep voice rumbles from beside me and I groan. That’s what I did.
“Wake up.” I roll over and throw my arm over my eyes, blocking out the blinding devil light coming through the cracked blinds.
“I am awake, you just smacked me in the face.” I can feel him shifting, and suddenly his arm is draped over my waist. “Mornin’, by the way.”
“Good morning.” I know I should move, I need to remove myself from this situation and travel in the opposite direction as fast as I can, but the warmth from his arm is lulling me back to sleep.

Dean lay on the cold floor, his eyes red from crying, throat torn to shreds. His face was marred by tiny cuts where he’d dug in with twitching, frantic fingers. He tugged at his hair, pulling at it as he shook; his gaze locked on the door, waiting, praying for Y/N to return.
“She’ll be back. She’ll be back. She loves me. Have to get her back. Have to get her back. Have to. Have to.”
His words echoed through the empty room, twisting his voice and pumping it back at him until the air was filled with maniacal chanting.
