Ernest smiled, excited to have seen them walk in and enjoying the smile thrown his way. He liked getting out of the house especially when it meant getting to talk to someone.

“I’ve liked just sitting and people watching, it’s nice to see so many other people,” he replied, enjoying seeing a friend again. “How have you been? It’s been far too long! You should catch me up on new things in your life.”

"Ah I understand that. And you can pick up all kinds of little interesting details about people when you observe them for a bit. So I'm glad it seemed to work out okay for you." That's one less thing to be worried about as Saima settled in for a nice chat with Ernest.

"It really has been too long. I missed you dearly Ernest. New things? Well, the warmer weather has started coming around so that means working on the garden, preparing to go sailing again and prepping for live festivals I might perform at. So that has been keeping me busy enough along with the errands I do just assisting neighbors in the community. How about you?"

"Told you," She replied in almost sing-song voice. "I do business around here frequently."

Kar then regarded the barista, "And the apple danish."

It didn't take too long; tapping her card to complete the purchase. Free to finally settle down on her people watching bench. Thankfully, as if expecting them, was empty. Kar sat down, taking a deep sip of her drink, enjoying the small moment.

"What brings you here?" She finally asked, a little harmless small talk.

Saima chuckled slightly before nodding a bit. "I totally get what you mean now." Seeing that level of familiarity really sold the point to them.

Once they had their drink and danish, Saima was glad to settle with Kar on the people watching bench.

"Me? Well, I have a few friends in the area - went to see their performance last night. And otherwise, just doing a bit of exploring honestly. It's been a few years since I was last here. "

Saima had been going out.. just for the sake of being out and about. Somehow they had gotten pulled into what sounded like had been a cast party but went much beyond that. At least, that was the impression they got from walking around and talking to people.

In any case, they were glad to be able to participate and learn more about the people in the area. So when they were approached by someone, Saima offered a slight smile.

"Oh.. hey there. I definitely wasn't expecting to end up here, but uh someone drew me in from outside. So you can say I'm definitely very new to all this. "

"A lot can change over time, like that land can change a lot over time." he looked around, this place would have been a lot different even just ten years ago.

"What's something you've personally noticed?"

"Yeah, it can be stunning the sheer amount of changes that take place. It's a lot to process.. even seeing everything going on."

Saima thinks for a moment before responding.

"I guess like the ways that people communicate with each other, the use of language shifts has been really interesting to me. The way people share stories with each other is noticeable to me."

It had been a little bit of time since Saima had seen Ernest, but they were excited to be able to meet up with him again. Although they had tried their best to get to the meetup spot on time, between traffic and getting a bit turned around - it took a little longer than they would like to get to the shop.

But they did manage to arrive and immediately waved at Ernest as soon as they recognized his waving at him. Walking over to him, Saima offered a warm smile.

"Ernest, hello. It's so good to see you too. I hope I haven't kept you waiting too long. I got a little caught up in traffic on the way here. "

Kar gave a small, amused laugh at Saima's question.

"I usually do my chai latte." She admitted, "Watch."

Being a frequent enough customer, she didn't exactly need to order by name, the second the barista caught her sunglass covered eyes, they nodded their acknowledgement of her and her order.

"And a mocha-- she added. "Anything else? My treat."

Saima waited to see what Kar wanted to them to notice. When they saw the barista recognize her eyes, they couldn't help but chuckle. "Well .. wow, talk about you being a regular."

Asked about anything else, S took a moment to survey some of the pastries.

"Maybe that apple danish would be nice too. "

"At the most simple of bases, yes... I don't enjoy bad business." he admitted, before turning his attention to Saima. " Not matter.. You are far more interesting, so to whom do I owe the pleasure?"

"Makes sense. Bad business can be so troublesome to deal with all around. " Saima sighed, shaking their head at the thought. They smiled at him turning his attention to them.

"Oh.. I'm so much more interesting huh? You flatter me. But it's a pleasure to meet you. Name's Saima, Saima Vaher."

Rowan was playing it cool, trying to hide the smirk that was appearing on her lips as her hand rested against their ass, not wanting to move it for the time being.

"Do what casually?" She asked, the smirk now on full display. "Can you blame me."

Saima couldn't help but roll their eyes at Rowan's trying to play it cool. And they were proven right when they felt her hand still on their ass.. and seeing that smirk on full display.

"Resting your hand on my ass. You know I feel it." They chuckled, leaning a bit closer against her.

"I can't blame you at all. But it does make me think you have some other intentions for the evening. "

"You know, seeing you blush is one of my favourite things in the world, I don't know why."She said with a gentle smile on her lips

"That sounds like the best idea in the world right about now." She smiled, clapping her hands together. "I promise you that it won't take too long."

Saima found themself blushing a little deeper at that statement. "Oh wow. Well, you're certainly going to see a lot of that keep talking to me this way.." they responded with a pleased tone to their voice.

"Wonderful. Let me help in some way. What can I do to make this go a little faster?"

He hummed softly, it was nice to be able to be there for someone, and a brief reminder as to the positives in the world. "It's the least I can do for someone I consider to be a friend."

There wasn't very many peaceful moments in his life, at least not of late, so this was nice. Well, save for what his friend was going through. "I'll try to be there for you when ever you need someone to lean on."

"And it's quite a delight to be considered a friend by you. Know that the feeling is very much mutual." Saima was incredibly grateful for the chance to be this vulnerable with Loki.

"It means so, so much to me that you're willing to try and be there. I feel the same. And I .. am just grateful for the chance to have this kind of closeness. "

The Professor's eyes sparkled with delight at hearing Saima's response. "Ah, the power of metaphor, weaving its own tapestry in the corridors of your mind," she mused. "It's fascinating how words can paint such vivid pictures, isn't it? Each phrase and each expression ... it's like a brushstroke upon the canvas of our thoughts."

Saima smiled, there was something about really getting to appreciate metaphor, language with someone that really delighted them. "Oh certainly. I love how vivid the imagery in different languages can be. Like it can evoke such thoughts, feelings in way that are truly.. magnificent to acknowledge. "

"Indeed," John replied. "But it's not just about the thrill, is it? It's about understanding the darkness, dancing with it, sometimes even harnessing it to do some good in this messed-up world."

"Exactly. Because I also recognize that the darkness is not always evil. It's often a lot of the misunderstood, or subjugated influences that might otherwise be dismissed by those fixated on the light. Remaining open to those possibilities of connecting it with doing some good.. is enough to keep trying."

A small smirk played on John's lips. "Routine's the death of magic, mate. It keeps us numb to the wonders of the world." He gestured vaguely with his hand as if encompassing the vastness of existence. "But when you're open to the unexpected, that's when the real magic happens. That's when you find yourself on the edge of something extraordinary."

"No wonder that it can be so suffocating being stuck in a routine then." It almost felt like such things were made to force people out of a sense of wonder and exploration.

"I suppose there's a lot to really ensuring that you remain so open, no matter what might want to take you away from such possibilities. "

John leaned back in his chair. "Ah, so you're one of us then, aren't you? The seekers of truth in the tangled web of existence. Always chasing down the obscure, the overlooked. It's a risky game, but the rewards are... exhilarating."

"It took a long time for me to recognize myself as such. At first a lot of my wandering would be among the more mundane parts of existence. But following those threads would inevitably lead me to weirder and weirder places over time. I don't regret really.. the risks that I was able to take."

A faint smirk tugged at the corners of John's lips as he looked back at them. "Ah, spoken like a true thrill-seeker. Always dancing on the edge, aren't we?" he asked.

Saima chuckled a little bit, they offered him a bit of a shrug. "I guess when one gets through so many rough events .. maybe at some point you start seeking out something different as a chance of pace."
