The way you tell me these corny jokes yet you still manage to make me smile. I love how I love you. I love the ways you choose to show your affection for me. I love your passion for your hobbies and interests. Except for online games =_= You tell me that I never have to worry about anything at all. Everything is fine when I talk to you. The fact that we haven’t been together yet it feels like I’ve been with you for a long time. The way you remember the smallest things about me. The way you remember the smallest things about us. Treat her as if you’re still courting her. She likes to feel loved and needed. She loves it when you miss her. She doesn’t expect much. Little surprises like a hug from behind or a random handwritten I love you note will surely keep her in a good mood all day. Above all, don’t make her feel like she’s worth losing.

Prayer is not to change God, but you

God is omnipresent and omniscient and knows our needs. Prayer is the process by which God gives us His perspective. It is a time to turn our hearts and minds.

Prayer is not about your needs 

In prayer, we must first seek God’s will to know where we should put our faith. Many people approach prayer with the uncertainty of whether their prayers will be answered. Before we can pray effectively, we must ascribe faith to our prayers, and we can not have that without the certainty that we are praying for what God wants. 

Prayer is not just about you 

Make sure that prayer is focused on other people. It’s easy to get bogged down with our own petitions and requests, but God wants us to put others before ourselves. This concept is specifically aligned in Scripture and says we should consider others better than ourselves. What better way to do that than putting others first in our prayers? 

Prayer is not only to speak but also listen 

Listening is a critical part of the prayer. It is important to meditate, sit still and not have a one-sided conversation. Nothing is more discouraging than getting involved with someone who dominates a conversation. This also applies in prayer. God wants to speak to us. We should be all ears and practice the art of being quiet and still before God. When we do, we will surprise us with the number of times during meditation God speak with us. 

Prayer is not just about the future 

It is vital that we express gratitude to God for what has been done. It’s easy to just focus on our needs, but we should reserve a part of our prayer time to always tell God how thankful we are for listening and responding to our needs earlier. We need to have a thankful heart.

When we begin to understand these truths about prayer, let us be more effective in aligning our hearts and conversations with God’s will, instead of being prevented from having a deep personal conversation with Christ. God created us as a people who love the community and He wants to have the same intimate relationship with us
