I've asked this question before and been surprised by the results, now I have access to more weirdos it's your problem:

AO3 Mobile Site Skin

Hey, do you like to read fanfictions on the AO3 only the font is too tiny on your phone? Let's fix that.

Create a new site skin and give it a unique title—that's unique to the archive, not to you, so probably put your username in there.

You can describe what the skin does in the description field. That's just for you later when you're like, what the.

Then you're faced with the CSS box. You got two options here.

1) You can make all the fonts bigger with hashtag outer:

#outer { font-size: 16px; }

2) Or you can just make the story text bigger:

#chapters { font-size: 16px; }

For either of these options, you can also define font size as a percentage of the base font size, so "font-size: 105%" would make everything just a bit bigger than it currently is.

3) And of course any other CSS you want to slam in there to optimize your mobile experience. I also shrunk the line-height, the size of the title, and the margins for the summary and notes.

Now here's where the magic comes in. Scroll down to the "Advanced" section and expand it if necessary, then scroll to the "Media" section, then scroll inside the little box until you encounter "only screen and (max-width: 42em)." Select that. The next option "only screen and (max-width: 62em)" is for things with wider screens, like tablets.

NOW. Below that is the parent area. I wanted to use my desktop skin as the base (parent) for this, so I clicked on "Add parent skin," started typing in its name and AO3 was like, "Oh yeah, I know her," and I selected it from the drop down menu. If you're using a public site skin, you could add it as the parent. If you don't already have a skin you're using for desktop and don't want to use one for mobile, you can skip this step.

Then I hit SUBMIT and selected my new skin to USE and started the endless process of refreshing a work page on my phone, incrementally changing the CSS, then refreshing the page again until I was satisfied I had fiddled with it the proper amount.

Now my desktop browsing is unchanged and my mobile browsing is FLAWLESS.
