In honor of MerMAY, I’ve crawled out of the depths to draw a piece of art inspired by The Little Mermaid featuring my favorite ship from The Umbrella Academy - Klaus and Dave!

Despite this being the first thing I’ve drawn in months, I’m pretty proud of it! I hope you’ll like it too! ❤️

hello umbrella academy fandom today i have for you something very silly (aka “old Five/AJ is a fun crack ship”)

I first drew this like a year ago, forgot about it completely, and then rediscovered it and was like “wow this is incredible I need to finish this” (primary impulse behind that is the frankly genius outfit decisions past me made)

I love how they completely recast Dave in season 2, despite Dave being only 4 years younger, but they had Robert Sheehan play 17 year old Klaus, despite having a teen actor to play him.

What scene do you think rob is playing a 17 year old klaus? They always use the teen actor when he’s meant to be a teen. Rob had to dub over some of the lines in those scenes (I assume due to recording errors or maybe there was something wrong with Dante’s voice? It was kinda odd), is that what you’re thinking of?

There's a scene in episode 2 of season 3, where Klaus is talking about how he found the cheque stub that had his bio mother’s name and address on it, and it flashes back to him finding it. Klaus doesn't give a year on when this was, but he does say that Amy Winehouse was at the top of the charts. Amy Winehouse was on the top of the charts in the middle of 2007, when the Brellies would have been 17, almost 18. However, Robert Sheehan is the one playing Klaus in the scene, not Dante Albidone.

Dante was already in some of the flashback scenes from when Klaus died in season 3, I think that if they intended for Klaus to be 17 in the scene where he finds his mother’s information then they would have used Dante. They didn’t attempt to make Rob look any younger so I’m guessing he was meant to be in his 20s at least.

Their universe isn’t the same as ours (given the difference in technology) so I don’t think the writers were looking for complete historical accuracy when they wrote that line.

Happy New Year! We're back with a (not necessarily literal) bang for another Klave Prompt Fest!

We'll be taking prompt submissions until 20th January. Then on 21st January, the prompt list will go live for claiming on a first come, first serve basis. More details on the claiming process to come!

Posting begins on 21st February, a totally random date which definitely has no significance to Klave whatsoever and on which nothing bad happened at all. Seems like a good day for some new Klave content. 

All types of fanworks are permitted, including (but not limited to):

Works of any ratings are welcome, provided you're over 18 and people know what they're getting when they click into it.

If you are creating NSFW/explicit art, please provide a Tumblr-friendly SFW cropped/censored version and a clickable link to the uncensored one, accompanied with appropriate warnings.
