Some time ago, we made a rule for ourselves that we weren't gonna post any more pics of us online. This was originally out of concern for our privacy, but then Tumblr started becoming more hostile for trans fems than ever.

But you know what? Fuck that. Watching everything go the way it has sucks ass, and if we're gonna go down, I'd rather do so while being loud and proud.

And so: Here's what we looked like before and after 4 years of transitioning

so Tumblr's answer to being accused of nuking transfem account for no reason is to nuke more transfems account for no reason?

We have a whole conversation but this message from matt especially really showed me how tone deaf and privileged this dude is.

"We can't be transphobic if we're not systematically shutting down every trans person's account on sight. We only shut them down if they share photos of themselves in any context and ask us to stop the harassment they're getting. We're so progressive you guys 🤗🌈"

For those who don't remember, here's the lawsuit two years ago where Tumblr (or specifically Automattic) settled with the New York City Commission on Human Rights regarding Tumblr's terribly implemented porn ban targeting LGBTQ folk more than it should. Here's an excerpt detailing what the NYCCHR ordered Tumblr to do:

The settlement gives Tumblr 180 days to hire an expert on sexual orientation and gender identity (SOGI) issues and provide related training to moderators. It must also hire someone with experience in this area as well as expertise in image classification, who will review Tumblr’s moderation algorithms to see if they’re more likely to flag LGBTQ content. As part of an overall review, Tumblr will reexamine 3,000 old cases where a user successfully appealed a takedown, looking for patterns that could indicate bias.

Now, on a totally unrelated note, here's the complaint page for reporting discrimination to the NYCCHR. Completely unrelated to what's going on right now or the rest of this post, I swear.

Literally never seen a blog get deleted as hard as they deleted predstrogen. Every image on every post regardless of content just gone. Swear to God staff invents new moderation tools for the people they hire to target trans women with. No reasons, No TOS violations, just fucking voiding a random trans woman instead of any of the thousands of hateful TERF or Nazi blogs. Tumblr REALLY hates transwomen despite the fact that transwomen carry this fucking site.

actually its worse than being banned for no reason, they made up reasons on the spot when i asked about it. when my account got terminated, they said it was for sexually explicit content. when i corrected them saying i was actually cleared by staff and support for this a month ago, they told me:

there was no mention of harrassment, theyre simply making shit up as they go along. even worse that theyve ignored my emails from last year about the harrassment ive faced all of 2023. they can make up a reason to hurt a trans woman, but wont help the trans woman from the same thing shes accused of

tumblr CEO photomatt demonstrating the ancient tumblr tradition of making a self congratulatory callout post framing a vulnerable trans woman as a violent offender and yourself the victim by completely making shit up and exaggerating completely harmless comments you call "proof" into a fiction of real world violence, refuses to give any kind of concrete explicit evidence when called into question just demands to trust me bro, I mean he even makes a claim to innocence by virtue of proximity to other queers, absolutely fucking textbook, this website is a deathspiral a fucking tar pit

Hey fun fact it’s extremely easy to verify someone’s pronouns by checking their blog! Oh you personally terminated it before checking their pronouns and publicly posting slander about them? And now you’re backpedaling on their pronouns even though you were correct in the first place? Well I’m sorry but at that point you’re just being deliberately obtuse at best

i think it's worth remembering that there has been a multi month long ongoing harassment campaign against various transfems on this website by now, with tumblr moderation doing barely anything about it (except banning some of us), but they're currently able to find every single post vaguely mean to matt and suspend them within an hour with no reports.

if the ceo of tumblr saw the death threats i get he'd hurl

they should invent a tech ceo that doesn't have the insecurity of a 12 year old boy
