Or at least mine n’ Tayo’s surname, passed to us from our parents, who were labeled as such because of their initial, uh-… “Hippie status”, I s’pose. A lot changed for them, but the name stuck, even in later years in the military, from almost bein’ an insult, to a friendly joke, to bein’ an honest name, associated with them n’ their family. As for Riften, well… he lived in the forest for a while, and tended to stick to the trees a lot for shelter, and was as respectful for nature as most hippies were, really, so I guess he’s an honorary tree. At least Tayo considers him part of the family. Though I still ain’t quite sure why, myself… I more or less understand.”
[Riften]: “You’re giving a fair and reasonable explanation on the history of your name to a guy who voluntarily goes by ‘Mushroom’… and I’m the weird one? You have issues…”
