<*⛵*> “Alright, that’s a wrap. Good plays, there.”
That certainly went better than their previous attempt. She’d mown down plenty of foes, and her backup had been solid. She turned and gave Sona a wink and a thumbs up, pretty high praise coming from her.
“I think that’ll do. I’ll wash up then get on my way. Seeya!”
A quick wave, and she disengaged, logging off and re-materializing in her bedroom.
Back into her mediocre, drab apartment.
She sighed, wishing she could have spent a few more hours plugged in, but she supposed if they had to do this, they should get it over with as soon as possible. She really wasn’t looking forward to meeting Sona. Nothing personal, just most of the other members of the Arcade Jump Project did two things: One, they looked down on her since she’d grown up on the streets, and her gaming experience was for the most part literal arcade games. And two, they never stopped talking about their personal achievements, what got them in the program and why they were so good at video games.
Like Sarah gave a damn.
One change of clothes and one bus ride later, she stepped out in front of the cafe, crossing her arms and pretending to not be impressed. This really was a cafe that catered to gamers, as the website said. She could see through the second story windows the neon lights that just screamed they had a variety of consoles and arcade.
“Maybe they’ve got some pinball, too.” She murmured to herself, hand straying to her wallet, filled with quarters, before looking around. “Now, where is she …?”
🎼 “ Alright see you there. “
She lingered a moment, before disengaging back to her life. The room was large and eloquent. Consoles, computers, TVs, and games littered one side of her bedroom entirely. Another wall was devoted to being a cushion corner, filled with books, pillows and plushies. Then her bed was king sized, silken sheets upon them.
She was rich. In every term of the word. She had managed to avoid real life meetings thus far. Now one was being forced upon her. Thus this meeting would be the end of her hope she had found a partner, even if Fortune hadn’t proved to be the kind she wanted. She also knew that people changed with time, especially when strangers became friends.
A soundless sigh, as she went over to her closet, picking out the simple purple tee and black knee length ruffle skirt. She fixed her blue and yellow hair up into her pigtails, making sure they were secured. Makeup was touched up and she left for the cafe.
Ten minutes later, she saw the ginger enter the building. She looked almost identical to her in game self, aside from clothing and hair. She rose, going over to the other. Hands trembled as she held out the electronic tablet to the other, a greeting ready for her.
Hello! I’m Sona. I’ve got us a booth in one of the private rooms so we aren’t disturbed. Follow me.
