Yellow Verse James: laughs bitterly I KILLED YO MAMA }

Avatar
From anyone else, the lift would have killed the mood and she’d go right back onto the defense. But this was James. The one person she trusted. More than herself, in fact, she trusted him. His beautiful face. His beautiful smile. He was gorgeous in every way. And, what’s more, he saw something in her. Something important.

“They don’t, do they?” He was right. No one could possibly know them as well as they knew each other. She kept her gaze on his face, not wanting to pull away quite yet, I love you, but the words were locked. Still, a part of her feared scaring him away, “And you, my dear,” instead of confessing love, her hand moved to brush a lavender strand behind his ear, “are far more than your own handsome gaze and unparalleled fashion sense.” Unparalleled… except for me.

“Of course they don’t! We’ve known each other longer than anyone has known us.”

OH, SHUCKS -- He’s blushing now all while wearing the biggest grin upon his face! How dare Jessie make him blush like this -- How dare!

“Oh now don’t flatter me like that, Jessie! You just might make me blush!”  Uh, spoilers James -- You ARE blushing!

Royal Pain (AU)

The silence she received was hardly unsurprising. And she would simply ignore such a thing until he decided she was worth speaking to enough to answer her generous offer. He wasn’t happy, oh she could feel that anger from where she sat and honestly it brought a small grin to her face.
Look at how things flipped. It used to be her, there, in the dirt, looking up with angry eyes imprisoned not by bars but by the societal attitude towards poor orphan children. At least, this poor orphan child. To see the prince. The beloved one reduced to where she had to call home more often than not, well, it was like a soothing balm. And here she was, being more generous than his family ever was to her by offering a blanket.
She was practically a saint.

‘Uncouth?’ She raised a brow, what the hell does that mean? Ugh, such a spoiled brat. Context told her it wasn’t a good word, she doubted he’d be praising the flooring of his cell. He wasn’t looking at her. That was fine. He could pout all he wanted with his fancy words.
“I ain’t gonna be behind nothin’, your majesty,it wasn’t a tone of reverence, the mocking title leaving her lips, “I got protection,” well, that was what she had been promised. Who knew how true the promise was?
Ugh. He was so well bred. Like a show horse, preened and sculpted from his body to his mind. ‘Particularly,’ who the hell uses that word? “No one likes the cold, your majesty, said with as much mock as it had been the first time, “That’s why we have blankets,” she had gotten up to grab the promised item, her mind thinking back to her own words. Well. She liked the cold.
Snow, really.
Her eyes shut a moment as she shook the thought away and tossed the blanket gently in towards the back of the man, lingering, standing in front of the cell, “Take a nap. Your whining is annoying me. Rich people always whine. What do you have to whine about?” Aside from being kidnapped and held for ransom, of course.

“Oh, no, you most certainly WILL be behind bars the moment they get the chance to do as such. Believe me.” Least that’s what they always CLAIMED they would do if he had ever been kidnapped. Not only that -- “Your punishments, once caught, could be as bad as death. Hope you know that.”

He had been taught lots of things, told lots of things. Though all of which seemed to NOT be paying off as it should have. How could the guards have let him down like this? How could such a damned thing HAPPEN?

Once he heard the blanket hit the floor behind him, he was quick to reach back to grab it. James huddled up within it quickly, though. . . He was highly disappointed. This wasn’t as soft as his own blanket back at home, nor was it nearly as warm or comforting.

“Don’t tell me what to do.” Maybe he’ll stay up and continue to whine just to spite her. “This blanket isn’t warm enough for me -- Don’t you have better? Surely you do.”

She was shaking but this time for a positive reason. Those emerald eyes, that sweet face, her whole world. Meowth could come too but he was not involved here.

In an act only freely and frequently given to James, she opens her arms and wraps them tight around his familiar body, breathing in him. He always smells a bit like nature, a lot like home, “Then I’ll make sure you never have to give up your bottle caps.”

The hug is, without a doubt, returned with absolutely no hesitation at all!    Aaannnddd alley-OOP! He’s lifted Jessie RIGHT up and twirled around with her before gently setting her back down on her feet.

“Just remember Jessie! Nothing is more valuable than you are. I don’t care what anyone else says, they don’t know us like WE know us! The pretty face is just a plus to you. You’re more than your gorgeous looks and no one can argue with me on that -- NO ONE!”
